How about a Green Mason t-shirt that simply says George Mason Basketball across the front and no sponsors on the back or anywhere on the shirt!?

I agree, Mason Athletics should give season ticket holders more stuff, like more shirts, hats etc

Season tix holders received gifts in the past, but it has been a while. I recall Doc Nix garden gnome, 12 oz. glasses featuring players, mini Final Four banner, stadium blanket.

I liked the blanket, still have it. A few years ago they mailed a box with the tickets that had some nice branded stone coasters as well that we still use.

I liked the blanket, still have it. A few years ago they mailed a box with the tickets that had some nice branded stone coasters as well that we still use.

My daughter uses the blanket now so it’s come in handy and agreed with the coasters. Although the ones I have say “rock with us”, lol. I’m debating if that should be a gag gift for a contest of some sort on here.

Last home game the cheerleaders actually threw out jerseys into the crowd after a 3. A child in our row caught one and opened it up and it was a jersey. We were all shocked as we had never seen them before. Think they were white and with George Mason on the front in Green.... can tell they were made in bulk so maybe they will have more in future games. Looked like a small or medium so maybe designed for kids.

It was towards the end of the game so maybe they ran out of t-shirts.

Every time I hear a college pep band play "Killing in the name of" I want to tell people that The Green Machine was the first to do so. I'm not sure if that is actually the case though. The pep band at the D II game I'm at just played it.

I once received a large Tevis tumbler with the Mason Star logo on the front and my name on it on the back for perfect home game attendance. I think that was the 2011-12 season.

If no one else has seen it, Mason is stepping up for the road game at GW on Feb. 5.

Not only did they schedule a bus for the trip, but the tickets will be no charge to any student that RSVP's for the trip. I'm hoping they get the word out to all students, instead of just emailing the one's alrady on the Maniak mailing list; need to bring in new blood!

No reason not to have a large student contingent at that game. I don't know if they've done this before, with comped tickets, but me likey!

We arrived early to sit first row where we could make some noise (by the band and opposing bench) only to find the 1st 7 rows reserved for a bunch of kids and their parents (who mostly sat on their hands). I daresay we could have kept this game from going into overtime if we were down on the floor.

I noticed that first row of kids with basketball uniforms on...I think they were the ones who played at halftime.

I think a large group was expected to sit there but they went and said in their "ticketed seats." It looked to me like the game day director was going around the EBA selecting other groups to fill the empty seats so it didn't look bad on TV.

That's the man who sent it out.

They changed the policy because the past two years one of them had 11 hospitalizations and they were deemed a mass casualty event by Fairfax. I told the woman we are not BYU and we shouldn't try to be BYU.

@mkaufman1 this is what i was thinking of. Granted it was 6 years ago but I don’t think the university’s alcohol policy has evolved to a point where they’d let Tony buy fans beer.

For the past year, I have driven Mason students as an Uber driver on, around and off campus from time to time.

Many times they take an Uber from the dorm from campus to DC or Clarendon to party on weekends. Other times they takes ubers to classes from one spot on campus to another. Other times they take rides to sporting events on Campus sporting events like the field house across the street..

1. They really need to emphasize the use of the University transit bus more and maybe provide more business routes at night when students sometimes need a ride back to their dorm rooms from on campus events.

2. The AD needs to stop placing so much effort on promoting the basketball team near the satellite campus. Very view if any students are going trek from say Loudon County in the middle of winter to Fairfax to see a Basketball game.

There are enough students on Campus to create increase attendance...concentrate all the efforts on Main campus students for increasing attendance.

Things to consider...

1.) I've run across 20 somethings who get absolutely gassed hoofing it up two flights of stairs. Need to promote exercise. Walking and biking are the better options over Uber-ing half a mile across campus. It's also a bit less expensive.

2.) Why not promote the basketball team at the Loudoun campus? Does the Loudoun campus offer every class that a Mason student has to take—are they stuck in Loudoun? Do they never find themselves in Fairfax? Loudoun is not South Korea (hell, I'd promote the basketball team there, too—South Korea is one the most wired-for-Internet countries in the world). Does a Loudoun Campus student not find themselves moving to live in a place that happens to be closer to campus after graduation, and hence be more inclined to attend a game? That is, promotion today has long-lasting effects with recall extending into the long-term. If one can't attend a game then isn't there a thing called a "streaming live event" (or replay)? Eyes on screens is the next best thing to live attendance (also refer to the South Korea reference above). Viewership drives ratings which increases future potential media revenue, generates interest and fandom, and may entice fans to attend a game or two.
