This will be the Patriots first-ever meeting with Florida A&M, a Tallahassee HBCU who competes in the SWAC, but they will make for a familiar opponent for VBL and some of her staff from their time at Bethune-Cookman. The Rattlers were picked 8th in the 12-team SWAC, and lost their season opener 112-39 at Florida State. They will play Howard in DC tomorrow (Saturday) in what is presumably a 2 game road trip.

George Mason's home opener will feature a pregame banner unveiling and ring ceremony for last season's A10 champions, so plan to arrive a few minutes early.

FAMU is at Howard today and I predict our game will not be pretty. Howard up 12 at the end of Q1.

Rattlers have 2 6ft+ front court players who lack mobility. Back court features 2 under 5.5 guards.

They play a help zone defense to prevent 1 on 1 matchups and hope the opposition can't make 3s.

I hope that FAMU got $50k in buy game money for the weekend.

They've struggled to find consistent scoring, recording a -54.5 scoring margin and averaging just 7.0 assists per game compared to 25.0 turnovers. Florida A&M has also been challenged on the boards, holding a -16.5 rebounding margin (40.5–57.0 per game) through two contests."

It's a good thing Florida A&M is already in town after playing Howard on Saturday, so we don't have to worry about them not being able to fly here. Hopefully they won't experience any issues flying home.
