Team Stats:
ODU averages 75.3 points per game while giving up 78.6.
The Monarchs shoot 43.6% from the floor and 32.2% from 3.
Opponents are shooting 44.1% from the field and 32.3% from 3.
The Monarchs shoot 73.6% from the free throw line.
They have been out rebounded opponents by 2.0 boards per game and average 11.7 turnovers per contest.
Stats: https://odusports.com/sports/mens-basketball/stats/season/2025-26
Thoughts: The Monarchs are winless on the road and have struggled against good teams. Two losses to A10 teams on the road, GW by 23 and Richmond by 9, are an indicator we should win this game if we play up to our potential. They were scrappy against Richmond. Getting Shaw back is a pretty big deal for the Monarchs.
How will we respond coming off a less than inspiring performance at Tech? Will not having a mid-week game be a good or bad thing? I would prefer to have a Tuesday or Wednesday game to get the bad taste out of collective mouths.
I hope we come out pissed and take it to them from the start because I don’t want to see slow starts become the norm. Go Mason!
