Terrible loss. We should not be losing to teams like GMU. Some thoughts from the game:
1. If anyone questions how bad a loss this was, we basically lost to Fordham tonight, as GMU was picked 13th in the A10. Best way to look at it.
2. We have too many unique offensive weapons to NOT get open shots for our guys. AJ had a bad night, but in his defense, we didn't run many sets for him that would allow him to get back into the flow of the game.
3. DL3 with 16 rebounds but seemed like his head was elsewhere at times.
4. Horrible clock management down the stretch. Couldn't figure out whether we should be fouling or playing d, so instead we decided to hedge and foul with 15 seconds on the shot clock a few times. Just makes no sense.
5. Believe our first "true" forced turnover came at the 1 minute mark when we got a 5 second call on GMU. That simply can't happen.
6. Hines not bringing anything at all to the table right now.
7. Bebis continues to be a bright spot, and slowly playing his way into the rotation and building confidence each game.
8. Frustrating that we let them execute their game plan of milking the clock the entire second half when they were up 8-12 points. With foul trouble not being an issue at the time, couldn't understand why we weren't in their face and pressing earlier on.
9. Amayo will dominate in the MAAC.
10. Turning into a typical Iona season. Letdowns in OOC play but talent is there for sure, and we'll definitely get our act together by tourney play, but our early season woes will likely cost us dearly come seeding time if we're fortunate enough to make it.

Except their fans think they have a shot at winning their conference and getting into the NCAA tourney. We are under no such delusion.
Well considering we are 2-0 against the MAAC, they should be confident. Of course they just lost to us, so there is that...
