"Zahirah Walton averaged 26.5 ppg on 45% shooting, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals across the Patriots first two games of the season. She shot a total of 13-14 from the free throw line over the two games and set new career-highs in points (31 vs. Temple) and made three-pointers (4 vs. JMU).

The Patriots started their season with an overtime loss to Temple, but bounced back with a win over JMU, snapping a 20-year winless streak to the Dukes.

Walton shares this weekly award with Richmond's Maggie Doogan."

George Mason vs. Ole Miss

3 p.m., BallerTV, Daytona Beach Classic (Daytona, Florida)

If the Atlantic 10 is going to get multiple bids to the NCAA tournament like it did a year ago, George Mason is the key. A game at Maryland right before this trip to Florida and this matchup with Ole Miss gives the Patriots their two biggest opportunities for a foundational résumé win.

I see that the upcoming games in the Daytona tournament is on something called "Baller TV". Anybody know anything about them?

Doesn't look like ESPN+ is covering this. Any other ways of watching these 2 games?

Outrebounded 43-29 and outscored on FT line by 14. Currie-Jenks (6'-2") had 32 pts, nearly half from the line, and 11 rebounds.
I think I saw Komara in uniform for the Rider game but never took off her warm-ups. If she's considered someone that will be a force on the boards, anyone have a sense of when she'll see the floor?

Steep climb, but should have enough talent to move up. Somewhat surprised that Blair got significant minutes but given the rebounding deficit, likely needed her height. Anyone know Komara's status for returning and how much she might contribute?

At the tournament, she scored 42 points at a 65.2% clip, including 10-12 from the free throw line and just 2 three-pointers in a loss to Murray St. on Friday. Then on Saturday, she scored 20 vs. #13 Ole Miss, helping the Patriots to within 8 points in the fourth quarter before ultimately falling to the Rebels."

Less than artistic with too many fouls (50) called leading to close to 60 FTs. Turnovers galore. A few overly long referee reviews. Led to difficulty in gathering and sustaining momentum. Not a good night for either the players or the refs.

Komara did contribute 9 pts and 8 rebounds, mostly subbing for Volker who started but who got in some foul trouble early.

Just noticed this stat: Fordham had only 5 assists to go with their 20 turnovers. And yet we struggled to pull away significantly from them until late in the game. Long ways to go to get to where we were last year.
