Welcome Coach Tony Skinn!

Does secret mean there won't be any news to come out of it?

The coaches use these closed scrimmages as a training tool to test the effectiveness of different lineups, plays, and defenses against another team. This is really a better test than an intrasquad scrimmage of teammates who have been practicing against each other.

But, the teams aren't really trying to win the scrimmage, so the coaches prefer that information (particularly the score and other statistics) be kept secret.

Thanks for that. I wasn't so much interested in the stat sheet, more just the lineups and rotations coming out of practice. I guess we'll get some of that from the Villanova exhibition next weekend though.

On that I heard a rumbling that we may go 10 deep. Take for what it’s worth since it’s early preseason chitchat.

Based on the way this roster has been constructed, Tony repeated comments about de-emphasis on inside out post-up basketball and most importantly...the staff's apparent consultation of Euro basketball and analytics consultants...the plan seems to be to open up the offense with alot of spacing, playing at a faster and increasing 3 point attempts that increase the offensive efficiency rating...to that end...going ten deep seems to be the way to go...

Hopefully it works out! Will be interesting if that’s the route we go. Tony’s most successful team at Mason went 8 deep, played slow as hell, and ground opponents into the hardwood. This does not seem like that team.
