2004 was the year. I haven't found the games but there is a clip or two in our top 50 plays of the decade. I think its from the UT game. Those NIT games back in ? when they beat UT and Austin Peay. It was a fun atmosphere.
Paul Ball was fun!To cheat a little (as I was in middle school and high school at the time and didn’t know that gmu was a school) any of the ridiculously high scoring Paul Westhead games, win or lose.
My guess is that Mason athletics may not even have footage of these games. I'm not sure how far their archive goes back.1) First game played by GMU as a DII program
2) First game played by GMU as a DI program
3) First game played by GMU at the then Patriot Center?
Article on the game with most of the focus on the losing coach (and former Mason athletic director) Jack Kvanz.I can't remember the year, maybe 1981, when Dave Skaff set the Mason record for points in a game. It was in the old gym, Father (back then he was just Peter) Nasetta had his air horn, maybe 250 people watching.
Once Skaff got rolling, the team just kept shoveling him the ball and he kept firing away. Pure shooter. Had the record for a few years before Carlos Yates beat it.
