Mason trivia...can anyone else name another Mason guy we had from Christ the King in the 90's who was a complete bust?

Yea, Corey Edwards hasn't played great or even good basketball for us, but I wouldn't call him a "complete bust". I'd call it something different, not sure what though. It's not like he was coming out of high school with CRAZY expectations and was going to magically be a top PG in the country. We got what we got, unfortunately, he's nothing special. He hasn't played well, which sucks, but he also didn't have expectations, at least from my standpoint, where everyone was saying "holy shit GMU is going to dominate with Corey Edwards in the future".

Nobody expected Corey to be John Wall or Chris Paul, but the accolades he came in with (being the or one of the highest rated NYC PGs) would lead you to believe a certain level of play would follow.

I expect a PG coming from such an area that is known for PGs and to be that highly regarded, to playing much better than Corey has ever played.

He was considered to be the best pure PG in NYC by several journalists/recruiting folks. That's pretty hefty praise, and I personally had big expectations for him. He showed some of that promise in his first Kenner League, and throughout his Freshman year, but he has just continually regressed. Nobody seems to know why, but I think there's just a void where his confidence used to be.

He oozed swag when he come out of HS, and now he looks terrified just bringing the ball up the court against moderate pressure as a college junior. It's mystifying.
