Man, BA has just moved into really good company!

I love BA's game. I just wish he shared something in common with the other 5 people in that top 5... the ever-unteachable "clutch" mentality

Curtis McCants set the record in three years...imagine what it could have been had he not allegedly pulled a knife on someone in a dorm room.

But, way to go BA...you play with a lot of heart!

Not to diminish what some of those players accomplished, but does anyone else have a feeling like there ought to be an asterisk next to any player's name in the record books if the record was accomplished during the Westhead era?

Almost like it should be judged on a different scale...

To judge Curtis McCants' playmaking skill, I compared his sophomore season (1994-95) with Amp Davis' senior season (1987-88). In 1994-95, the Patriots had 442 assists (9th highest all-time) and averaged 16.4 assists per game (2nd highest). In 1987-88, the Patriots had 438 assists (10th highest all-time) and averaged 14.6 assists per game (7th highest).

In 1994-95, Curtis McCants had 251 assists and averaged 9.3 assists per game (both school records). McCants had 57% of his team's total assists.

In 1987-88, Amp Davis had 176 assists and averaged 6.1 assists per game (both 3rd highest all-time). Davis had 40% of his team's total assists.

Good comparison Pablo. I think it shows that McCants was very skilled. My only point was that offensive statistics in the Westhead era were skewed a little bit. Some of the records may be unattainable under a traditional style of play.

Curtis McCants was just a fabulous player who could do it all...score and assist. He almost single-handedly made us competitive against all foes. He would have been great in any era under coach.

I knew he could do it. Now THAT's player development!

2012-13: 47.4% (82-173)
2013-14: 63.6% (28-44)

Trivia Question: Name a Patriot who played 4 seasons for Mason and never attempted a FT?
