Goodbye Keyshawn Hall

Trading up teams to get a better payday is not the reason that Key became persona non-grata. He's considered a jerk-off because he quit on the team.

In

comparison, for example, there is a HUUUUUGE difference from the way Jaylen Haynes handled his playing career with Mason over Keyshawn Hall. Haynes knew he was leaving Mason for a bigger check way before the 24-25 season ended. Jaylen played every game, played to win, played with the team—even through the NIT (the same goes for Baraka Okojie at the end of his freshman season, sans NIT).

The bigger issue is that Key quit on the team before the end of the regular season.

Conclusion...
AJaylen Haynes = Total Class
Keyshawn Hall = Complete A$$
1. There have been dozens of players in the portal era who have elected to transfer during their teams post season's runs in the portal era. Players constantly have other school calling them before the portal opens with offer to transfer during the season...it's been happening since portal opened

2. From a practical standpoint, Haynes came into the 24-25 season 30 pounds overweight and never lost the weight, it cost him lateral quickness and verticality on his shot on the court...no way vcu's Luke Bamboye blocks his shot multiple times at vcu and the A10 championship if he is at 245 pounds instead of 280...he parlayed his success on the court for a million dollars at Cincy and promptly tears his ACL due to his weight issues(like John Williams, Zion Williamson and host of other overweight players before him) before the season and loses all that money.

Conversely, Key comes into Mason 70 pounds under his playing weight at UNLV, becomes an all-conference A-10 player, all conference player at UCF and an SEC POY candidate at Auburn..

Now he is playing for an NBA summer league team while Haynes has to start over with Dayton and convince NBA execs that he can still play

Seems to me that Key turned out to be the one with foresight and Haynes was the fool...

As for Key leaving Mason, it should have been a red flag to the AD to get their NIL Sh!t together. Three years later, coach Skinn still has overhaul his to roster every summer.

Nothing has changed.

I get it. I just don't have a problem with what he did....loyalty is a two way street and it's dead....coaches do it...see Will Wade...See..Dusty May..its every person for him or herself
Obviously you don't 'get it.' No one here is arguing the loyalty argument. We don't like his low character act of quitting on his team. That's the point. Not loyalty to the program or CTS, but the personal character to follow through on a commitment made, particularly one to your teammates in their greatest time of need, i.e. heading into the conference tournament. That's the point.

This is why I no longer watch college football bowl games.

Not sure why we are now dragging Haynes. Was I happy every time he fell or had to sit for a bit with an injury, no. But he was out there trying. He left the team after the season. Now he could be playing for a different conference team. I do not like that he is on Dayton's roster but he is allowed to make that decision. He did not quit on this team during a season, during a conference championship run. One of them will be a quitter in my eyes and one will be one that tried but came up a little short for a championship.
There was a different recent player that I thought wasn't as good as some here did, who I think was exposed when going against bigger guys when we got to conference play, and he got more time on the bench at the end of the season, but he did not quit. He was also battling injury.
Last season with we had BOC and sad he was injured. But he was with the team on the bench cheering and he was there during warmups. He could have left after the season, and I am glad he is back! If he would have left I would have been sad but that was his right to make the decision. but he did not quit on the team.

Ohhhhhh... kayyyyyy...

...so, you're saying that what Key did to his team, as deceitful and disingenuous as it was, is perfectly fine because the ends, or $$$, justify the means???

...wooooophh.
