We’re not done yet - other tournament possibilities?

WNIT? Do you think we could get a home game for Kennedy Harris and Louis Volker?

Is that a typo? WBIT? Did they mean WNIT?

https://www.womensnit.com/ - my question stands. Was it an understandable typo or is one bigger than the other? WNIT vs WBIT?

read the terminology closely

WNIT is Co-owned by the NCAA with another entity
WBIT is fully owned by the NCAA

The NCAA prioritizes WBIT since it is pay for play, and without that fact, they would lose money.

Note - I have no idea of the AD's budget for Women's BBall

WBIT will involve expenditures to play - as we will likely play on the road and against higher quality teams than the WNIT

Post game press conference start ~7 min mark with Mason. Coach Reiss of URI later says some nice things about VBL and Mason's program.

It’s annoyingly confusing (why the NCAA didn’t just buy the NIT brand outright like for the men who knows), but everyone is right

Tier 1: NCAA
Tier 2: WBIT
Tier 3: WNIT

if memory serves me correct - The original NIT (men for sure, don't know if it included Women) sued the NCAA over Antitrust violations and as a settlement the NCAA was forced to buy the NIT.

At some point a portion of the NIT was sold to another interest. I don't know the specifics but with the creation of the WBIT we may be looking at another court case.

We might. Last year St Joe's (23-9) lost to us in the finals and hosted 2 home games, beating Albany and losing to Villanova.

Davidson (19-13) was not a host and lost at JMU.

It would be dependent on some sort of seeding, I presume, and the availability of EBA.

St. Joes finished with a NET 53 last season. Not sure what the loss to URI will do but Mason is currently at 60 in the NET.
