...... There is no point in playing a regular season when A) big programs conspire to not play you. B) You could possibly be left out of the tournament b/c of A and b/c you have a few losses. One f**king loss and Miami (OH) aint getting in according Bruce Pearl! Underheard of! Somebody needs to file a lawsuit. IF kids can turn college sports upside down then a few hundred basketball programs can diffently come up with a lawsuit to even the playing field. And if the big boys wanna become pussies and leave, then f em. Let them start their own tournament or just be absorbed into the G league. what is happening now is absurd. Lose one game, and miss the dance? f outta here
Lunardi's response:
"I try to avoid debates without clear right or wrong answers, but Bruce Pearl's
argument against Miami (Ohio) as an at-large team requires context. First, high-major status aside, we have no idea whether Auburn is the better basketball team. Second, Miami has
won four more true road games than Auburn has
played, and road teams in men's college basketball win less than one-third of the time. Finally, in the modern history of the NCAA tournament, great mid-majors have won almost
twice as many games as middling high-majors, despite fewer bids and weaker seeding. Now, I suppose it's possible Miami is the worst undefeated team of all time, and Auburn is the best .500 team we've ever seen -- but it's way more likely Pearl would be better off leaving Bracketology to the professionals."
The RedHawks are two wins away from an undefeated regular season while the Tigers are barely above .500.
