The obvious statement: Mason needs to rededicate themselves to man-up, chest-to-chest defense. Either that or do what teams are doing to us and pack the paint.
Best thing to do on offense is to lower one's head, drive into the paint, and attack the basket with four players. Get physical, get fouled, get mad. Put our opponents backs flat on the hard wood. Toughness.
It's unfortunate that Riley and Mincy are playing hurt and there's no one who can up their game far enough to make up for the loss in player-power. Riley is so slow right now and he can barely jump. We see Mincy trying to take shots and trying to get to the rim, but his thumb won't let him. Gotta heal, but it may not happen fast enough to make a difference. Damn, we had a good thing going.
I would not want to fall into a losing streak. We're home vs. Dayton, who will likely beat us up badly, but I hope home court counts for something and we can eke our a win. Then, a week off to lick the wounds.
I didn't expect to win at GW this season, but SHEEEESH, what a SH!T SHOW in the second half tonight to follow up the sh!t show at Richmond.
Beer me.
