New article with a quote from Tony Skinn on Dola Adebayo

M'kay... according to the article, Adebayo was "A key contributor for three seasons...". Later in the article, it states "Prior to his two collegiate seasons...".

..sooooo, which is it??? Does this mean Adebayo was held out for one season?

Adebayo has played in each of the past 3 seasons according to Kenpom. Never held out.

10% minutes in his freshman yr (played in all but 6 games but sparingly, only getting double-digit minutes in 5-6 games), 51% of minutes in his soph year, and 72% of minutes this past season.

Dola played some good minutes yesterday and showcased a few times his skills and abilities on both sides of the court—nearly a Double-Double (14 points, 8 rebound, plus 4 steals and three blocks in 22 minutes). If he was in the dog house or simply not well playing Catawba then he appears to have bounced back. Go Dola!

Where is Dola? He keeps starting, but after his opening few minutes on the court he disappears. Lots of '0s' the last four games. One has to ask, why is he starting at all? His one superb game vs. NH showed us what he can do. So, what gives?

Minutes–Points–Rebounds
VTech........... 2–0–0
Cornell...........5–0–0
JMU.............13–0–1
FAU,.............16–0–3
Ohio.............17–6–5
Jax...............17–4–1
NH............. . 22–14–8
Catawba...... 10–0–0
Winthrop......23–8–7
Wofford........27–8–5
Alfred............19–5–2

Will someone ask Tony on Monday what is the deal with Dola Adebayo???

Watch his effort on defense and you'll have your answer.

Yeah. I have been. Not a great sample size lately. So why is Dola still starting? The man's getting paid to not play. It would be one thing if he was injured. He doesn't appear to be.

As the old moral goes, "If the a$$hole doesn't work then nobody works."

[Note: Not calling Adebayo an A-hole, only making a relevant, comparative,.hyperbolic statement that channels my frustration and confusion.]

Maybe he's the best on the team for the opening tip. Stays in if he's contributing; gets substituted for if he's not.

Hard to make changes to the starting lineup while you are winning. I’ll be curious if he’s starting vs ODU or not.

Naturally, Kenpom has ranked players on % of jump balls won!

Adebayo is ranked #124 out of 660+ players and is 6-3 this year (data taken before the VT game), and 33-22 over his college career.

Castro of GW is ranked #10 (36-12 career, 8-2 this year).
