they signed Javon Pickett from Mizzou who is a heck of a lot better than Williams and would have taken all of his mins. his mins dropped 10 mins per game

Not a whole lot of minutes left to give after Collins, Perkins, Pickett, and Jimerson.

"As a freshman last year, Edwards ended up redshirting after reaggravating a leg injury from his senior year of high school. Because of that redshirt, Edwards still has four years of collegiate eligibility."

Vanderbilt transfer Shane Dezonie has committed to Saint Joes. The 6’5” freshman played limited minutes for Vandy, but was a top 100 recruit out of high school.

This whole saga has been hilarious and watching St Joes fans lose their collective minds over this gives me strength and faith in the lord.

Davidson transfer Michael Jones has committed to Stanford, per his IG page. Averaged 11.8 PPG last season.

This is significant for Stanford, who has not been able to take transfers in the past due to its strict academic guidelines.

I can confirm the SJU alumni I know are quite despondent. Why a 3 star would consider joining Lange is beyond me. He's likely on his way out after next year. On top of that, I know there has been some debate among the higher ups about the value of even putting a D1 team on the floor, given the resources required, and the questionable return at an institution like SJU.

Any enterprising recruit willing to dig through the Hawk message board for a few hours would see this.

One of my buddies sent me a projection showing Jordan Hall going to the Warriors in the 2nd round of the draft at #51, which I find remarkable.

If the higher ups are truly debating that, that is wild. For a team that has a tradition of being part of the Big 5 and having a good basketball team, what a change.

I honestly hope that they kick Lange out after 1 more year and find a real coach. The league needs St Joes to be good.

.

How do you reconcile this with the proposed upgrades in athletic facilities - https://sjuhawks.com/news/2021/6/29/20m-gift-launches-campaign-for-reimagined-athletics-complex.aspx
& https://sjuhawks.com/sports/2021/6/17/athletics-complex-renderings.aspx

"Highlights include dedicated basketball training and practice facilities for the men's and women's programs, an indoor turf training facility, expanded high-performance facilities that support both physical and mental well-being, an enhanced gameday experience and multiple spaces for on-campus community building.

The $55-million fundraising campaign was launched with a $20 million leadership gift from alumnus, James J. Maguire '58, who will continue to champion the remainder of philanthropic efforts."

"'The announcement of the new basketball training and practice facilities shows the deep commitment Saint Joseph's University has to elevating the basketball programs on Hawk Hill,' said Men's Basketball Head Coach Billy Lange. 'I'd especially like to thank Mr. Maguire, President Reed, and Jill Bodensteiner as they have continually put the holistic development of St. Joe's student-athletes at the forefront.'"
