Below is probably the first interview since the great George Evans graduated from Mason.

Now might be a good time to get him back inside his Patriot Dome to honor him properly by retiring #21.

Was this interview done by the same kid that always pi$$es off CKE post-game?

What are your memories of the 1999 NCAA tourney (you went scoreless on 0-6 FG in a loss to Cincinnati)?

In the 2001 NCAA tourney you scored a tourney-school-record 27 PTS/10-15 FG but Tremaine Price’s bounce pass went through your legs with 6 seconds left in a 3-PT loss to Maryland: where does that rank among the most devastating losses of your career?

I like those tough, "uncomfortable" questions. It allows the reader to attain a deeper understanding of the person providing the answers. Honestly, they're questions that everyone would like to ask but are afraid to offend. The answers show us that ballplayers are human, after all.

Yes, but he's a GMU legend and this apparently is his first interview in about 20 years. It should have celebrated him.

Too early for offseason topics guys :p

Kidding. #21 is unofficially retired but hopefully at some point in our lives we'll see it officially retired.

I don't think that's it. This is Hoops HD not the WaPo but a wordpress site with a 90's billboard header design, so don't expect the same journalistic standards, but it honestly still a dick move. And it's combining a question "What are you memories of the 1999 NCAA tourney?" with the interviewers own commentary thrown in to elicit a specific response to the question.

If the guy reached out to Evans and said I want to interview you about your play in your two NCAA appearances including your mistakes, then fair game. But I'm going to go out on a limb and say that didn't happen.

I'm still not convinced George Evans existed. Never seen the guy. Never seen a current video or picture of him. I've only heard passed down stories of his triumphs and greatness. I guess that puts him in the same mythical-legendary category as Achilles, Hercules, Odysseus and Beowulf.

KE has obviously reached out to the FF guys. I wonder about Evans and Sanders. To me, they are two of the three greatest Mason players of all time (along with the deceased Yates).

I appreciate the multiple thumbs down from you verdad. Everytime you do it, which is often, I know what I said was correct. I truly do value your opinion. Keep up the good work, and I'll try to continue to win your approval. Thanks!
