Going the lame duck route would be the strongest signal yet that Mason cares not a whit about the basketball program. Given the facility investments that have been made, I find it extremely unlikely that the administration would go in that direction.

Barring a miracle, I think Washington and Edwards have to either cut bait or try to convince the fan base that Dave’s record justified an extension. I wish them luck if it’s the latter.

He’s probably closer to $200,000 than $300,000 because Seton Hall doesn’t have football ... hopefully a chance to double his salary and coach at his alma mater would be enough to get it done.

Have to set him up for success. A generous salary pool for assistants would be a major help in trying to get some quality experience on the bench with him. Especially a former HC who can guide him on how to delegate and manage his time.
