A few thousand would be a good start. What number would you say We have to hit to make them care?

I think that the preferred lobbying route would be to get the Alumni Association to indicate their support, and providing testimony to that end, the next time the AD is scheduled to present to the BOV on the budget. Especially if you want to make a case about raising student fees to get additional funding. Get them to collaborate with the AD and his office. The BOV doesn’t care about 30 people emailing about bball…
I’ll let you know what they say.I think that the preferred lobbying route would be to get the Alumni Association to indicate their support, and providing testimony to that end, the next time the AD is scheduled to present to the BOV on the budget. That said, I'm certainly not an expert on university budgeting constraints nor money-raising.
My question to you: do you want a coach who an NCAA invitation every once and awhile or do you a program that becomes perennial contender to participate regardless of the HC?I’ll let you know what they say.
do modern players care about infrastructure I/e a basketball facility or do they care more about a high paying salary? My question to you: do you want a coach who an NCAA invitation every once and awhile or do you a program that becomes perennial contender to participate regardless of the HC?
The former is St. Louis while the latter is vcu?
The irony here is Mike Rhoades, Ryan Odom and Phil Martelli Jr are being roughly half the money that Shertz is getting now.
Mason's leadership is taken the latter approach in investing in infrastructure first so that program success is not completely dependent the coach sitting on the bench.
It's the correct way to go.
With all due respect, this is hogwash. Mason doesn’t have a large enough donor base for small-time contributions to make even a dent in what is required. We need at least five more Kathy McKays and it’s literally Marvin’s job to sell the business community on the benefit of being associated with Mason Basketball. But we’ve been beating that dead horse since long before he arrived in Fairfax.Any campaign to increase budget spend (especially on revenue share) needs to come with a commitment for those demanding more to donate more. If you aren’t willing to increase giving, I don’t know why anyone should care about what you’ve got to say about them paying the players more. This is especially true if you’re asking students to pay more.

Then let’s move to the CAA or patriot league. if the only thing that matters is making it to March madness. Go dominate a lower league.Yep, this even applies further with casual fans. All of us on here can appreciate 20 win seasons and validate the progress we're seeing on the court, but casual fans and the broader Fairfax/NOVA community probably don't see that...getting into the tournament and being part of the "Madness" is that next step to really drive fan engagement with the program.
More people than exist. What number would you say We have to hit to make them care?
We can be the first team to go 30-0 and not make the tournament. Make history! lol. Then let’s move to the CAA or patriot league. if the only thing that matters is making it to March madness. Go dominate a lower league.
We’ll make the NIT again this year, no P5s are going to bother anymore. Not expecting to get home games after how we ended the season.
We'll see. We're definitely on the NIT bubble..
