The official I'm done thread

I'm done donating to GMU until TOC and Hewitt are gone. sorry, my money is better served to be pissed away at a casino rather than their product on a basketball court.

I hope you are sarcastic.

If not?

Good frigging Riddance!

I would rather have REAL fans than FICKLE fans.

This season is a valley but eventually WE WILL be on top of the mountain.

WE ARE MASON!

What if TOC fires Hewitt mid-season but stays on himself? Does the firing redeem him enough for you to donate again? :)

Nothing more motivational than a Nixon quote. Perhaps Hewitt will resign on TV and give us a nice wave whilst boarding his private plane...

If only one can go now then the AD should be canned.

I will keep donating, buying tickets, and coming to games no matter what...But TOC and El Presidente will hear enough from the big donors. As a business deal, Hewitt gets one more year. But when he has another bad year with "his" guys, then El Presidente pulls the plug.

If we don't win one game in the A10 this year no way Hewitt should come back. I don't care if it makes for a bad "business deal". That would be inexcusable and warrant a prompt firing.

I agree with you Expat...sports is about winning and not about business. But unfortunately our administration likely is viewing it from a business sense.

Which sucks. Winning can improve your 'business'. I guess the Admin. doesn't see it that way.

Once more I agree with you. They should see it as "cutting their losses." If you could hire a young energetic, good recruiting, coach who could win immediately, his wins could offset the last two years of Hewitt's salary.

I was talking to some people tonight and felt the donations are going to drop if we don't win one conference game this season. I suspect the donations have dropped a little as it is.

How does not donating help us keep pace with vcu and UMass? I think we all want to win but I have no sympathy nor patience for Mason fans who will bail after 1 bad year.

I get it, and don't fault them at all. Why keep spending your hard earned money on a bad product? Basketball is a business, and a big business at that. Voting with your dollars is sometimes the easiest way to get the higher ups to take notice of problems.

As far as the "keeping pace" bit, I think we're still in catch up mode.

Has anyone discussed the impact on attendance? Last night, the announced attendance was 3,863. When was the last time that attendance was this low for a home conference game vs. a good team while school was in session and there were no weather issues?

Lets not act like we were right with vcu or UMass to begin with. A few years ago pre Hewitt we were probably right there with vcu but both schools had situations arise and made decisions that ultimately lead both schools on drastically different paths. Ill give you a hint, one school did it..... right one didnt.

As for money, it talks, AD wont listen to anything but money, that much is clear. Personally Im all but decided that I wont renew my season tickets next year unless Hewitt is gone. Id rather spend my money on something that I enjoy and have fun at, instead of an apathetic evening where Im just going more to sit with a few friends and listen to the band. Ill send my donation to the Green Machine instead.

The good thing about this, is that all it takes is one right hire to right the ship. The bad thing, Im not sure Im exactly confident in TOC ability to nail a hire like other schools have been doing.

No way was 3,800 there last night....I know, this is based off tickets sold. Dayton probably brought between 50 and 100 people (they had a pre-game at Brion's).
