47.7% increase in my case. Hmm........ Nothing official in my MasonNation account yet. It willl be interesting to see what this does to attendance. We haven't been over 4,000 a game since the 19-20 season. 3,353 last year was the lowest in a very long time, excluding the Covid season.

I can definitely see total single game tickets for the year decreasing. No one wants to pay high ticket prices to see teams like Coppin State and Stoney Brook. I’m sure a lot of people are going to not-renew or downgrade… that’s going to offset some of the extra revenue from the increases. I wouldn’t be surprised if revenue stayed the same as last year. Eagle Bank is going to feel even more empty next year.

I think the pricing makes sense - ticket prices for premium and nosebleed seats were too close. They are raising prices for premium seats where demand is much higher and I think they are offering bery cheap options as well.

This was a long overdue overhaul in the pricing chart, and will payoff through increased demand.

This is actually something Mason got right and I personally know that they put a lot of time and effort, internally and externally, into the rationale.

Don’t take the increases personally, pay what fits your budget and GO MASON!

The experiment of keeping prices low and hoping to make it up in greater volume of tickets sold is thankfully over.

As proven by our mediocre attendance figures, even during a 27-win season, casual fans are not coming out in numbers.

The reality is the program needs money to thrive in the current environment and the small core of loyal fans will continue to show up even at higher prices.

  • Additionally, loyalty-based discounts will be phased out to ensure consistency and equity in pricing.
- So everyone starts fresh this year? Doesn't matter if you've been a 20 or 10 year season ticket holder or a brand new one this year.... your past service and loyalty is now useless/null and void? Scratching my head here...Ok... make that make sense.

ENHANCING THE GOLD ROOM EXPERIENCE
As part of our commitment to delivering a first-class game day, we are reimagining the Gold Room—our premier hospitality space inside EagleBank Arena. Updates include:

  • A new Gold Room Pass priced at $750, with eligible seat requirements applied toward the cost.
  • Enhanced food and beverage offerings, including curated finger foods, high-quality snacks, and exclusive local selections like the Brave & Bold Commonwealth IPA.
  • Upgrades to the atmosphere and layout to create a more engaging and elevated experience for our most dedicated supporters.

- You want to increase prices without fixing the underlying issues in the first place last year - too crowded, food sucks/is cold/runs out, beer wait times/kegs get kicked, etc. But we are now serving cucumber sandwiches and "high quality snacks" rather than fix the main food offerings. Mmmmmk.

- What is this elevated and engaging experience exactly? Are you all putting in tv's in the Gold Room? Are you providing more seating and/or more tables? Another beer stand? Please provide us greater details here, this is just every sports program's blanket broad statement on an "elevated" fan experience - will things really change?

If someone wants to ask Myles or Katie the questions that are in bold and report back that would be greatly appreciated. I don't have season tickets but I am sure they would be happy to share what the plan is. It would be nice to see this changed since its exactly the same since I was in school, and I was in school almost 20 years ago.

All I know is they are looking at having more space, but I don't have a direct line to Myles / Katie so my information isn't going to be as precise.

I was in the first row of blue seats of section 116 this past season and there were plenty of open seats in both the blue section and the green section below me. The green row in front of me went empty most of the season. A couple times single game folks sat there. Unless they got something else up their sleeve to drive demand, I wouldn't say the demand is there based on what I saw last season.

We'll see how it plays out, but with the info I have right now I can't justify paying double for no realized benefit on my part. Give me some beer comps to soften the blow or something.

It's interesting that the total price per seat in the lower bowl of sections 102 & 115 is $750, while the total price is $1,000 for sections 117 & 130.

This is near the visitors bench or across from it. I wouldn’t think across court would be less, but I was disappointed when I have been assigned seats in that area behind the visitor bench. Makes sense for that area to not be as expensive.

Or maybe people hate the band

I sat over there in 2007, and it wasn’t that bad. But it is where visitor fans will be sitting and you can be infiltrated (oddly enough this happened at the W&M game) so it’s probably that.

How we feeling about the new pricing model Mason Nation? We knew it was coming with the change in the College Hoops landscape. My seats all in went up about 30%.

convert
my last year's seats have doubled in price
looks like
1) 10 game voucher pack for the good games - depending upon the schedule
2) GA games and get there early for some games
3) Stub hub when we play D2 and KenPom 300+ games

18 Conference games - 9 home
13 OOC games - 7? home
2 Exhibition games - 1? home

Total Price / 17+ home games

$175/game at the top end - VIP Row A
$12/game at the low end - Sections 119, 113, 128, 104
i think I'd stay home and watch on TV rather than go Value Ball

Gold room pass - $750/17 home games = $44

Has anyone received an email from Mason outlining the specifics of your seats and the requirements for this year? The reason I'm asking is I got a call yesterday wanting to discuss what had supposedly been sent in regard to my plan. I told them I hadn't received anything.

Not y to my seats/plan, but the new seating chart and info was emailed, posted here, and on gomason.com

They are also updated the system or whatever with the new plan, which will be online in another week or two - so they cant yet tell you exactly what seats/prices are available.

If you have questions, email Tyler and he will respond very quickly.

Those of you who are season tickets holders are being asked to bear the brunt of the House settlement revenue sharing payments to the players, so when you do the calculus of if it’s worth it think about if you are willing to front that much money to help pay for the kinds of players who will make the program nationally competitive. The “value” of the price increase is there not necessarily on increasing your gameday experience (although maybe the level of play will get better if they can pull this off, which would increase the fun).

This is spot on. Driving force behind this is to make us competitive on rev sharing. For me personally this makes sense, semi tax deductible donation that will help pay players staff is more palatable than the NIL collective. Calculus is obviously going to be different for everyone, but the costs associated with maintaining the program have skyrocketed (Tony + staff salary increases, house settlement, etc.) making the pricing change very long overdue. This needed to happen. I can see this making the Gold Room less crowded, the barrier to entry was too low in there compared to where the rest of our peers are in this space.

The costs of a D-1 basketball have risen. This is reflected in the rise of ticket costs, which I assume will occur in all sports receiving a cut of the House settlement monies. This is not a guarantee of additional wins or an A-10 Championship or even an NCAA bid. But without paying this new cost of doing business, i can guarantee that the GMU BBall program will suffer a lot more losses as better talent goes to programs with higher player payment budgets.
