What's the deal here? Bolowich has excellent credentials and a long history of success at the college level. Is there some back story on why our record has tanked?

A few theories:

1) he was out of coaching for a few years and there may have been a reason for it. He just may not have the same drive he had. If so, why would he have applied for this job? I don’t know.

2) he took over the program at the worst possible time (right before COVID) and trying to recruit and get his system in place might take longer because of it? This team was pretty much crap before he got here so there is that.

3) The mens soccer team doesn’t really get any support from the administration and so he’s trying to recruit in an area where a lot of colleges actually not only care about mens soccer, but throw their weight around (UVA, Georgetown, UMD certainly, but even W&M, JMU, American , UMBC, VCU, hell even Longwood has some soccer history).

Wasn't it just 3-4 years ago that we won the A-10 tourney?

"The George Mason men's soccer team played its final match of the season, falling to La Salle, 4-1, on Saturday afternoon at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Va.

Mason seniors Jonathan Fawole, Miles Montgomery and Jakob Rylander were recognized prior to the match.

Mason (2-13-1, 0-8-0 A-10) fell behind La Salle (6-10-1, 2-6-0 A-10) early in the first half."

Mason is winless in 19 consecutive matches vs. A10 opponents.
