This is complete bull shit:

Issue is not with the NCAA
Issue is what happens if all 6 or more players leave the team in support of the coach

Havent' heard anything about it being in Jeopardy but I'll keep my ears and eyes peeled.

"Six Wofford men’s basketball players that were ruled ineligible by the school for receiving 'impermissible benefits' have been reinstated, according to the athletes’ attorney."

"Wofford had not made any announcement regarding players being deemed ineligible. Attorney Mark Peper — who's representing four of the players reportedly ruled ineligible, and seven players overall on the Wofford men's basketball roster — said in an interview with WYFF's Marc Whiteman that using the meal plans violated Wofford bylaws, not NCAA rules, and the players were never told the plans could not be used."

Some players are getting paid millions of dollars but a coach gets fired for making sure kids have enough to eat, what a wild time in college basketball. Seems like an excuse for Wofford to fire their coach, odd after making the tourney last year, has to be more to the story. I believe there is a 30 day window when players are allowed to transfer after a coaching change but I can't imagine there are many opportunities available this close to the start of the season.

I don’t know that the players were hurting all that much if they could afford to pay their own way for off campus housing.

but it does seem odd that Wofford would stop them from subsequently using a meal plan anyway.

Limited Options
i am unsure when their tuition bills get paid and personal checks get sent

1) quit the team now, apply for financial aid, save this year of eligibility
2) usure if any programs have scholarship roster spots available
3) play for the new coach with the option of entering the portal in the spring
4) quit the team now, head home for a year at the local community college, save the year of eligibility

Agree with the previous "ridiculous" posts. The NCAA and the schools have basically stood aside and watched the complete disintegration of college athletics for the sake of the almighty dollar. We have players getting paid millions by "sponsors" (who is vetting them?), and paid hundreds of thousands by the schools themselves, (can state schools give money to players without following procurement rules?), and we have a transfer portal that makes every season a "new team" season.

And after all that chaos, they choose to punish players for not doing the right paperwork, during an obviously confusing episode, for a less than $100 meal plan. Are you friggin kidding me?!?

I'm expecting that my interest not going to survive the "New world of college sports".
