Almost game time

Cassedy on the mound for GMU

Note: game can be streamed on ESPN+. 1-0 Mason after first inning.

Why is Byron Kerr (GW announcer who once did Mason basketball games) doing the play-by-play?

Wish I could have caught some of the championship games in person. Solid season, overall. Nothing to hang their heads about.

assuming they all dont enter the daft or transfer portal - this is a great core to start next season with
I checked the team roster. This past year we had exactly 1 senior and 7 grad students. All of the latter group were transfers. Not knowledgeable enough to have a sense of how much they played but I'm guessing baseball guys don't stay around for their senior years.

On paper, we had a team that was almost completely led by non-seniors/grad students, with a few exceptions - meaning the team is poised to be able to return nearly everyone.

However, any players who have completed 3 years of college or turn 21 are eligible to be drafted. I think initial question will be who, if anyone, leaves early for the draft. Quinn-Irons would certainly be a likely candidate - can't imagine a Mason player improving their stock much more than he did this year.

Hopefully Coach Camp can bring most of everyone back and supplement with xfers where needed.

The baseball team was one of only 3 teams (Lamar, and Austin Peay being the other 2) that had 40 wins and did not make the NCAAT. Such a shame - though I can't argue we were deserving with our overall body of work and an RPI of 105.

The A10 was terrible this year, 14th best conference in baseball - gotta figure out how to improve those metrics to have an at large shot with seasons like this one.
