Not sure where to post this, but season ticket renewals are due June 16. However, the patriot club will not be publishing new hospitality requirements until late July. Who in their bright mind thought it was a good idea to not have all of this information fleshed out and publicly available before renewals end?

To his defense, I hate the feeling knowing I just spent $200+ for a game against DII Catawba while keeping my elementary kids up past 10PM on a school night.
You may 'feel bad' for doing it, but you do it because you're a good Patriot. Think of it as training for the kids later fandom of any sport. Late games, overtimes, travel, overpaying for tickets, parking, food and drinks ... Train early and often.

Here's a question for one and all. Would you rather have 19 home games, like last season, albeit against some weaker teams or would you rather have 14-15 home games with a stronger road schedule?

Getting home games against real quality opponents is going to remain a struggle.

Just curious, not trying to stir the pot or start a pissing match.

If go for less games and stronger opponents ... even with no reduction in ticket price. And that was an easy answer.

The latter. Hands down. As matter of fact. Play every OOC game at a power conference school and wait and limit the home schedule to in conference games.

Mason needs as many #50 opponents as it can get to make it into the big dance.

Ditto.

For season ticket holders, also makes the games a little more of an event, rather then, ugh another game on Wednesday we are going to (or should) win by 20+.

Do you buy tickets to see Mason or to see the other teams?
I buy tickets to see good basketball. Multiple games against non D1s, beating the blind and deaf by 20, etc. don’t help the team and quite frankly aren’t fun to watch from a fan perspective.

I’d take less home games against teams that actually matter 1000% of the time. NET aside, it just makes your team better getting challenged in the OOC. Last season is a perfect example of what happens when you cake walk through an OOC, it covers up real issues your team has when you can just outsize/out talent everyone.

I probably shouldn't respond because I no longer attend games. But, I wouldn't necessarily rule out D-II opponents. The Patriots did not get its first double-digit lead vs. Catawba until 12:07 remaining in the second half. And, Catawba's 15 steals and the Patriots' 21 turnovers were season highs.

If we have spots to fill and can only get a 250+ team, I agree throw in a DII team or two since they don't negatively affect our NET. It should also be a much cheaper buy game.

I agree with the need for a better schedule, but I also will buy my tickets without worrying about the opponents. That gives me something to fume and complain about in the Gold Room with the others, complaints such as bad schedule and losing games we should have won ... and turnovers, oh my, the turnovers.

I do think it’s important to note that Coach Skinn on multiple occasions said they called dozens of P5 schools and not one said yes until they had an unexpected opening. I don’t think we are purposefully trying to schedule nothing but cupcakes, I think we are mostly forced to.

Exactly right. We cannot schedule those who won't schedule us. I don't blame the coaches/staff at all for this. My ire is reserved for the NCAA who has set up a system that quantifies beating an opponent to a pulp as greater than winning a game that's an actual challenge.
