GIVING DAY 2023
Sad I wasn't part of this!

A couple of LA folks got together and asked the Allumni Association for support to start a local chapter (pre-covid). We were doing meetups every quarter or so (our biggest was around 80 people), and it was going really well. I know there was a lot of interest in watching a game together.

Then pandemic, and all the organizers (myself included) sort of fell out of it.
Same stuff happened in nyc. Besides some typical Mason stuff.

Season ticket renewals for George Mason men's and women's basketball are officially live, giving fans the first opportunity to secure their seats for the 2026-27 campaign and unlock priority access to new hospitality opportunities and in-game experiences.

Coming off back-to-back postseason appearances for both programs and strengthened by the Northern Virginia community's support, the 2026-27 season signals the next phase in the elevation of George Mason Basketball.

The athletics department will look to bolster the recent success of the programs by enriching the fan experience, enhancing game day atmosphere and delivering greater value to the teams' most loyal supporters.

Season ticket members will once again receive the best overall value compared to single-game pricing, along with priority access to the most in-demand matchups at EagleBank Arena. In addition, renewed members will maintain their seat locations and gain exclusive access to upcoming enhancements planned for the 2026-27 season.

Those enhancements to the game day experience will be unveiled later this summer, including improvements to premium hospitality areas, student section and overall concourse environment. These upgrades are designed to create a more vibrant, connected and high-energy atmosphere.

Fans who renew their seats by the June 16 deadline will receive priority access to these new experiences and seating opportunities.

During the eight-week renewal period from April 22 to June 16, George Mason has upgraded the renewal process to create a streamlined user experience. Invoices will be simplified, with one Ticketmaster transaction covering both renewals and seat fees.

Fans are encouraged to act early to keep or upgrade their seats, with incentives and flexible payment options available during the renewal period.

Renewal Timeline:
• Renewals Open: April 22
• Early Bird Deadline: May 19
• Renewal Deadline: June 16

Are Season Ticket Prices Increasing In 2026-27?
Men's Basketball season ticket prices and seat fees will remain the same next season.

Women's Basketball season ticket pricing will increase in 2026-27. As part of the department's continued investment in the program, season tickets pricing has been adjusted to better align with the enhanced game day experience, increased competitiveness of the program and the overall value delivered to fans. Women's basketball VIP seating will now include a seat fee which will contribute to priority points.

Why Should I Renew, Purchase and Join Early?
Single game ticket prices will increase for both programs in 2026-27. Locking in season tickets now will save between 25-30 percent over single game pricing. Plus, all ticket holders who renew by May 19 will be entered to win an exclusive game-day opportunity with the programs. This perk will be announced on May 5.

All accounts which renew (paid in full or extended payment plan) by July will receive preferred access to new hospitality offerings and upgraded experiences to be unveiled this coming season.

What Should I Expect with My Renewal?
Season tickets and seat fees are now consolidated through a single transaction. Fans will receive an invoice on April 22 and will be directed to their George Mason Account Manager to renew their seats. Tickets and seat fees can be paid in full or extended payment plan options will be made available.

If you have any questions, your personal account representative will be listed on your invoice.

What Happens If I Don't Renew by June 16?
If you do not renew by June 16, your previous season ticket seat location is not guaranteed and you will not have priority access to hospitality.

What Are The New Hospitality Experiences for 2026-27?
The new hospitality experiences will be announced in early summer. Season ticket holders who are renewed in full or on a payment plan by the deadline will have priority access to these opportunities.

These updates will be communicated via Patriot Club and Season Ticket emails, as well as via social media and GoMason.com.

Will My Seat Fee Count Towards Hospitality for 2026-27?
Starting in 2026–27, seat fee contributions will be integrated into a newly restructured priority point program. These points will provide fans with access to enhanced benefits, including hospitality experiences and postseason ticket opportunities. Further information will be released later this summer.

How Can I Renew My Tickets If I Don't Know What The Hospitality Options Are?
Season tickets and seat fees represent the ticket portion of your annual contribution. Hospitality memberships are a separate element and will be unveiled in early summer.

I Am A Prospective New Season Ticket Holder. How Do I Sign Up?
The ticket office is currently taking deposits for new season tickets! Interested individuals should place a non-refundable $50 per seat deposit to reserve a spot for seat selection later this spring/early summer. To make a deposit, click here.

Why Support NOVA's Team with a Season Ticket Renewal or New Ticket Purchase?
Coming off the best combined three-year stretch in school history, momentum continues to build in Fairfax. And while the transfer portal has reshaped how rosters are being built, both George Mason programs feature consistent, winning leadership from Tony Skinn ('06) and Vanessa Blair-Lewis.

Investing in season tickets is one of the best ways to support the programs, as significant attendance increases over the past two league seasons have helped both teams win close to 90 percent of their A-10 home games.

Renewal early and get entered into a raffle--winner of the raffle gets to select a home game opponent in the upcoming out of conference schedule.

Anyone know why they are being vague about the fee counting towards the Gold Room? Sounds like we are looking at another fee increase. I'm holding off on paying the invoice until I know what the full outlay is going to be. Never understood why they can't just tell you what four season tickets and four gold room passes costs.

I'm leaning towards same. I will have season tickets next year, but am probably going to wait until all the details are provided before I make my decision.

Just got a cold call from Matt Kaufam in the athletics ticket office. He told me flat out that seat fees will not count towards any hospitality. Sounds like gold room is a totally separate transaction.

This is silly in my opinion, because it no longer becomes a "perk" of purchasing tickets, but instead simply becomes another purchase thereby changing the math and perceived value. I know for me this will likely change if gold room is worth it. I was able to logic myself into it in the past by saying to myself "I get one pass for free and it's only a few hundred more to get a second gold room pass." If that same internal logic doesn't work anymore, I'm not sure if I'll be able to see y'all in the gold room next season.

Exactly how I rationalized it last year.

That's how downstairs has been for a couple seasons now. Was only a matter of time before the same applied upstairs. Hopefully gold room donations become fully tax deductible since seat donations are not.

My sense is that if you receive a benefit (i.e. refreshments in this case) then it won't be deductible, at least not fully.
The Center for the Arts has some sort of "Friends of CFA" that is mostly deductible, but your benefit is limited--e.g. one-time backstage tour, one coffee during event intermission.

I have no details on what they are planning on doing, but if this is the case then I think it’s kinda the point. Everyone has been complaining about overcrowding for years, and this should shake some folks out who otherwise would be there, while raising more money for the program. It’s not exactly a fan friendly move, but in this case I’m for it given the issues with the gold room.

Absolutely, if they can't accommodate the demand at the current price point, increase the cost. And I say that knowing that I'm likely not willing to pay any more than last year for Gold room and seats, and may opt out.

Another example of Mason thinking small. The Gold Room isn't any more crowded than a good bar on a Friday night. If this is an effort to cull the herd, they will likely wind up making even less over time. And great move, drive away some of the most ardent fans in a effort to make a couple bucks. Small thinking.

Why not create a fundraiser for the Gold Room (and just the Gold Room!)? Let everyone deal with the crowding while a two year fundraiser takes place to build a heated tented area outside. I'm tired of hearing all the excuses about why this can't happen. I'm in the construction business, and I am telling you the folks saying this can't happen, aren't trying very hard. Hell, make it a contest for the engineering school to figure out a way to get over the alleged fire code restrictions. Trust me, in my world we are constantly told we can't do something by bureaucrats, until we come up with a way to do it. Instead of chasing off Gold Room patrons, let them see how nice it could be, and watch the pocketbooks open up.

This year's food was a definite downgrade, and not hearing from a basketball coach sucked, even though MIles' excellent customer service, and obvious effort surely compensated. I just don't believe you can raise prices AND drop service levels and survive.

I will probably pay for the Gold Room again this year, but this definitely made the decision to drop from four season tickets, to two, easy. Call it my effort to ease crowding for the folks that complain.

As far as the "we can't build it, because..." crap goes, it is just a convenient excuse to allow one to sit on one's hands.

Same thing when we wanted the ancient scoreboard out of the arena years ago and to put something more modern in its place. It was "it's too heavy, the ceiling won't support it," blah blah blah... Conveniently ignoring the fact that an 80" screen today weighs less than a 14" screen weighed in the '80's.

If restaurants, bars, etc can figure out how to have a heated patio right up against the building, so can Mason at The Bank. Bottom line, Mason needs to find ways to INCLUDE more persons, with more events and perks, in an effort to drive revenue and have a raucous crowd, not make it more elitist and turning people off.

Good points - answer is likely to do away with food - that will create more space while simultaneously reducing demand for space.

There is some big projected changes I’ve heard about even involving students. From what I’ve heard it sounds great and that the people that pay will love it, then again I am not in any of your positions and don’t have to worry about the up charge. Hoping all the plans come to fruition and sounds like it’ll help the environment of EBA as a whole.
