Quite the opposite. vcu is obviously finishing top four and them beating everyone other than us helps us secure top four as well. I don’t give a hoot about regular season champs. A10 or bust baby.
Need some luck winning the A10 tournament. Regular season champions would still be a massive achievement in of itself, and they would hang a banner for it

Work to do

vcu Rams (59%)

vcu is the favorite to win the Atlantic 10 tournament (at 41%), but the conference has hovered between one to two NCAA berths in recent seasons. Because the Rams only rank 60th in SOR, they're no sure thing to make it in without an auto-bid; ESPN's model only gives them a 30% shot at an at-large bid conditional on not winning their conference tourney, in part because they are just 2-2 vs. Top 100 opponents. (Updated Feb. 3 at 2:18 p.m.)

...

George Mason Patriots (26%)

While George Mason and Dayton have very similar odds in the BPI forecast model, the models tend to favor the Patriots because of their superior metrics like SOR and Wins Above Bubble. The Patriots were listed in 42% of BracketMatrix's most recent entries, though they only have one real résumé-boosting game remaining (at vcu on Feb. 22). (Updated Feb. 3 at 4:10 p.m.)

Outside looking in

Dayton Flyers (21%), Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (14%), Saint Joseph's Hawks (13%), Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (12%), Jacksonville State Gamecocks (11%)

GIVING DAY 2023
In last night's action, both UMass and Davison collapsed, absolutely collapsed, in the last minute of their respective games against Saint Louis and Dayton.

The point I want to highlight here is that that used to be us. Not any more! We let it get close, but we sack up and hold on. This Mason team is fun, if not heart palpitating, to watch.

Davidson took the lead with under a minute to play (8-0 run) that was ruined by a Technical for taunting.

You've been on the losing side of the score for 39 minutes, get your sh*t together!

They got two technicals against us for the same thing (I’m going to be biased and say our guys were innocent and the refs too harsh here).
