Hewitt could hire Copes as DOBO ... Director of Blunt Operations.

What an absolute waste of God-given talent.

At one point the 55th ranked recruit in the entire class of 2011, to a guy that quit the team his Senior year, had a career high game of 14 points (once), and scored in double digits just 9 times.

The biggest bust in our program's history by a country mile, no question.

Sucking on the court was bad enough. But getting suspended multiple times, slacking in the classroom and ultimately "quitting" the team -- which is a big joke, BTW -- puts Copes in a class by himself.

Hopefully he eventually gets his head screwed on straight and is able to make a successful life for himself.

According to Jeff Goodman, Donovan will accept the OKC job if/when offered.

Wonder if Shaka is questioning his move to UT about now.

Why? Austin > Gainesville by several leagues and Texas AD is quite a bit more cash flush than Florida.

I know Shaka was an assistant at Florida for a long time, but if he can recruit to Richmond he sure as hell can recruit to Texas.

I've been to Gainesville, I have not been to Austin. Austin is definitely > Gainesville. Gainesville, VA > Gainesville, FL.

I agree with your comments but Shaka was only at UF for one year.

Maybe it was always just speculation but the general sense was that Florida was one of the destinations he preferred. It might have been great theater if they were both open at the same time. I would have certainly biggie sized my popcorn bucket.

Anthony Grant went from being fired at Alabama to bring in consideration for the vcu and Mason jobs, to getting hired as an assistant at Florida and now most likely following Donovan to the OKC Thunder.

Not bad.

Not quite sure where to put this, but in that it involves the vcu hiring of Will Wade and how much he is getting paid, this seems to be the place. Not quite sure about what "supplemental income" means other than a radio/tv deal (is that dollars provided by a private media outlet or money that vcu pays out of student fees?).
