I mean this has to be an us problem at this point right?Update: the MTE is absolute dog shit.
I think it is. There’s a lot that goes into MTE selection that is goes against us, like how well the fanbase travels, average TV ratings, etc. so I really get it’s not just as easy as “find a good MTE”. However I look at other schools in our conference who are worse than us in every conceivable metric and still getting better MTEs than us and can only think there’s a way to get this done and we’re not doing it effectively.I mean this has to be an us problem at this point right?
This continues to be a huge blocker and somehow getting worse. What an embarrassment.
Makes no sense. No benefit for us if we win both... we take all the risk. What is even the point of being in this MTE? How could it possibly help us? This is mind boggling.
And will be......??The second game will not be Florida a and m, it will be likeable.
I only see three teams in last year's version of this MTE. Perhaps this year's has a fourth? Or will it somehow be another home game? The second game will not be Florida a and m, it will be likeable.
The rumor is Bradley but I don’t know if it’s confirmed and I also don’t want anyone pissed at me if I’m wrong lol.And will be......??
No clue on the logistics, just got some info late last night after I was bitching on text to and with folks about umkc.I only see three teams in last year's version of this MTE. Perhaps this year's has a fourth? Or will it somehow be another home game?
I will backup the rumor about Bradley. Lots of context clues it will be the Braves, including their entire coaching staff following the event's twitter page.
UMKC is not great, but there will at least be some intrigue with them with Turgeon there now and allegedly heavier funding commitments by UMKC's admin.
I have long thought an issue with getting stronger MTEs, even with the improvement in our rankings, is the fact our fanbase sucks majorly at traveling.
I've heard another rumor about an encouraging neutral-site game I don't feel comfortable with/really can't put out publicly right now, but it would be a great neutral-site matchup to get on the schedule. Fairly confident in about 8 of our non-con games rn.
11/25 - Home game vs. LongwoodHere is the 2026-2027 season schedule so far:
Friday November 6th - Home game vs Coppin State
Thursday November 12th - Neutral MTE game vs Kansas City
Saturday November 21st - Home game vs South Florida
Wednesday December 2nd - @High Point
Saturday December 12th - Home game vs Old Dominion
I wish we knew what the non conference schedule looks like for the GMU women's basketball team for the 2026-2027 season. I have not heard anything about that yet.
How about a Saturday in the northeast that works for MEEEE? Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. John's? Not a bad trip for GMU and it works for ME. Of less importance, some other northeastern based GMU fans may enjoy a weekend game in the tri-state area of NYC.Give me some place interesting to travel. I enjoyed going to Duke. I don’t need to go to some random college in Florida.
I'd be there very quickly if any of these games transpired, especially St Johns. How about a Saturday in the northeast that works for MEEEE? Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. John's?
