Does HS recruiting mean anything, anymore?

If you have real talent, you are already chasing checks elsewhere. If you come and show real talent, you'll most likely be cashing checks elsewhere.

Seems for us, the real recruiting to follow is in April.

Power 4 schools are going after transfers so supply of top 100 HS players is accessible to mid majors

Yes. And you might wind up with someone like Emmanuel Kanga, who had a pretty good freshman season and decided to stay for hopefully an impactful sophomore season.

vcu was able to keep Nyk Lewis who fell in their lap after an Xavier decommit.

I’m curious what Pendergrass and Miller can do this year and if we can keep one or both of them for their sophomore seasons.

This is a pretty big deal. I honestly didn't think we'd land a kid like this but am very happy that we have. I've been holding my breath that somewhere out there we would find a family/kid that is old school and would make a commitment to our program. I've been hoping that integrity still exists in this world and this could be the affirmation I've been looking for. I'm not naive by any stretch of the imagination. I realize that if this kid is the real deal he probably won't stick around 4 years, that's just the society we live in. But, I still hold out hope. This signing may just keep me a fan for another year.

Oh it s huge get. And I understand with most P5s, etc not wasting time on high schoolers....it allows those students to land at a Mason. But it doesn't seem as exciting anymore.
