I almost posted about this when they mentioned George Mason on the news after he won the individual gold medal (they won team gold earlier).

I thought the men's individual gold wouldn't be decided until late afternoon today (Friday) after the free skate. Are you predicting the outcome? Indeed, he is 5 pts ahead after finishing first in the short program.

How crushing. Seeing all the falls of many of the others in that last group (some of them still turning out to be medalists) I think puts a seed of doubt into the next skater and detracts from their self-confidence.

It's parallel to my observation that the first few free throw shooters for us set the tone on how we'll be on the line the rest of the game. It's contagious.

I think I just misheard what they were talking about (I only listen to the news when I’m driving).

Clearly a replay from the short program a couple of days ago. Guessing the crowd was pretty depressed after today's disappointing performance.
