After falling in the Landmark Conference Championship against top-seeded Drew, the Cardinals ripped off three consecutive victories in the NCAA Tournament over Franklin and Marshall, Randolph-Macon and Roanoke to reach the Elite 8 for the first time since the 2000-01 national championship winning team. Catholic overcame a 19-point second half deficit to knock off Roanoke in overtime 95-91 to advance to the Elite 8."

Catholic is coached by former George Mason assistant Aaron Kelly.

"Odilo FC Cartagena CB (Primera FEB) has agreed to terms with 25-year-old American center Amari Kelly (206cm-102kg-1999, college: GMU) for the new 2025-26 season. He played last season at Brampton in the Canadian CEBL, where he averaged 11.3ppg, 6.6rpg, and 1.6apg in 19 games. Prior to that, he played for Fenerbahce (TBL) in the Turkish league.

He graduated from George Mason University in 2024 and it'll be his second season as a pro player. Kelly played for other colleges like University of North Carolina Wilmington and University of Duquesne."
