Also, barring something unforeseen, your 25/26 scholarship roster is complete.
So does that mean that we're not going to utilize all of our scholarship positions, or that the positions have been filled and we are just waiting to announce the final pieces?

Im still worried about our perimeter shooting. I thought we were going to add Watson, but now that we haven't, I have concerns.

Someone quell my concerns.

Granted- different sample sizes, different leagues, etc etc. But I'm taking the 3pt% from Adebayo, Troutman, Mincy, and Allenspach.

Adebayo- career 31.9% from 3pt, last year 30.6
Troutman- career 34.5% from 3pt, last year 39.6
Mincy- career 36.8% from 3pt, last year 36.8%
Allenspach-career 40.7% from deep, last year 48%

That doesn't include O'connor, Long, or Sivka, all who can also make the 3. Also, Hill's 3% wasn't great, but I suspect hes more of a get to a rim guy than shoot guy.

I see no reason why the 4 guys I highlighted, plus the few others I didn't, won't be able to have us shoot the 3 ball well enough this year.

Thanks, @mkaufman1

I guess its been a while since we had a PG that could also shoot from deep.

Otis?

And I wonder why Allenspach was used so sparingly at a school/conference inferior to ours. Is he a defensive liability guarding the 4/5?

Can we turn him into a Reed Bailey type? He really feels like a player that has excelled at Davidson, but do we have the type of offense to allow him to flourish?

Troutman and BOC, Im confident in their shooting ability. Adebayo im sure will contribute as well. And if Long can be healthy and get some PT after not playing over a year, then great!

Could be because he was behind Jaden Brownell who just went to Southern Cal.

Brownell was the forward who hit 6-10 from deep against us.

FAIRFAX, Va. – The George Mason University men's basketball program has announced the signing of incoming freshman Isaiah Skinn to the 2025-26 roster.

The son of head coach Tony Skinn ('06), Isaiah recently wrapped up his senior campaign at Edison High School in Alexandria, Va.

"I'm excited to have Isaiah join our basketball family," Skinn said. "By bringing him to George Mason, he'll have a chance to grow and develop while laying the foundation for his basketball career. He's a true program kid and a great teammate."

Isaiah Skinn put together an outstanding senior campaign at Edison High School, where he garnered First Team All-District and First Team All-Region accolades. He averaged 21.9 points per game while also dishing out 6.0 assists/contest and shooting 47.2 percent from 3pt range. He added 3.5 steals and 4.5 rebounds per contest.

He was named to the 2024 Virginia Wesleyan Team Camp All-Tournament Team and also earned a spot on the 2024 Hoop Group Elite Invite Only All-Star Team 1. He played his club ball for Family Over Fame.

The 6-foot guard joins an incoming George Mason freshmen class which includes guard Devin Booker (Philadelphia, Pa.) and forward Emmanuel Kanga (Libreville, Gabon).

Not a perfect thread for this, but a post on SLU's preview for next season, including their incoming transfers:

The Vault Files: Josh Schertz

Discussing Year Two of the Billikens' New Era

- By: Tom Harkness and Nathan Mook -
In the latest edition of The Vault Files, Saint Louis head coach Josh Schertz sat down with Nathan Mook of The Vault Network to reflect on his first season leading the Billikens and to preview a retooled roster primed for a leap in 2025–26.

Schertz arrived in Saint Louis last offseason after guiding Indiana State to a 32–7 campaign and an NIT runner-up finish, wasting no time making an impact at Chaifetz Arena. In year one, he led the Billikens to a 19–15 record and an 11–7 mark in A-10 play, earning an NIT berth and reestablishing the program as a conference contender.

This upcoming season, Schertz and company must overcome the loss of some massive contributors. Gone are 2024-25 All-Atlantic 10 First Team guard Gibson Jimerson, who finished his collegiate career with 2,428 points— the second-most in A-10 history—and a conference-record 422 made threes. Fellow senior Isaiah Swope, who averaged 17.1 points and 4.2 assists last season, also graduated, along with veteran starter Kobe Johnson, who cracked the opening rotation in 27 of his 31 games played last year. Meanwhile, Josiah Dotzler (Wyoming) and AJ Casey (Evansville) are amongst the prominent names who left the program this offseason via the transfer portal.

With all that being said, Schertz is far from starting from crafting his roster from scratch. Returning centerpiece Robbie Avila- who averaged 17.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 4.0 assists while shooting nearly 50% from the field in 2024-25- will once again anchor the offense. Kalu Anya (6.5 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 60.5% FG) adds grit in the paint, while redshirt junior Kellen Thames (6.2 PPG, 3.4 RPG) and sophomore wings Amari McCottry and Dylan Warlick return to provide depth and upside.

The Billikens further bolstered their roster by hitting the transfer portal aggressively, as they;'ll welcome some major contributors. Leading the list of new arrivals is Northern Illinois transfer guard Quentin Jones, who brings proven scoring punch after averaging 16.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists last season. Quinnipiac senior forward Paul Otieno adds interior toughness, coming off a year where he posted 13.0 points and 8.6 boards per game. Schertz also reeled in Dion Brown, a senior guard who previously lit it up at UMBC for 19.0 points per game in 2023–24 before transferring to Boston College. Despite a quieter season in the ACC, he remains a versatile scorer. Saint John’s transfer Brady Dunlap, a sharpshooter who hit 37.5% from three before an injury cut his season short, brings perimeter spacing. The backcourt gets further reinforcement from Xavier transfer Trey Green (5.5 PPG in 42 contests with the Musketeers from 2023-25) and Virginia sophomore Ishan Sharma—a rising sophomore who logged game time across 29 contests for Virginia this past season and boasts past national team experience for Canada.
The freshman class features three-star forward Cam Hutson and four-star center Jax Kerr, both of whom Schertz expects to compete early for minutes.

With a dynamic mix of proven veterans, impact transfers, and promising youngsters, Schertz enters his second season with heightened expectations and a clearer vision as the culture he's instilled has begun to take root.
With that, while the Billikens may look different on the floor in 2025–26, the goal remains the same: to compete at the top of the Atlantic 10 and push deeper into postseason play. And if Schertz's track record is any indication, Saint Louis fans have every reason to believe that this retooled squad is just getting started.

I have lower expectations this year. There’s less continuity than last season.

Last year we returned Maddox, Newton, Billups, and Haynes, who was at least around the program. It’s going to be hard to replicate that

I agree. Reasons why Tony's job will be tougher:
-incoming transfers for the most part are moving up in conference level (vs moving down, albeit from situations where they were not the main guys)
-fewer DMV guys that characterized his first 2 teams, which may have contributed to the cohesiveness of those teams.

But Tony faced the problem in his first season of not having many guys who had played together before and did a good job with that group. So the circumstances don't appear insurmountable. Nevertheless, this coming year will be a real test for him.

For these reasons I expect that the OOC schedule will feature a bunch of Sub 200 KENPOM teams which keeps us on a 20-win season trajectory and allows the team to gel, develop teamwork and chemistry.
