Yep its a big one today. Would not be surprised if its another one possession game like the St Joes game.

The two keys to Umass are Cohen and Cross who are very talented players and can score. They both need to be held in check. I don't think they have the quick guards like St Joes does and I don't think they shoot as well, but same rules apply in terms of defending.

Umass plays well at home and has only lost to Harvard and St Joes. We have generally done well against Umass at one point winning 8 in a row. Mason has not lost in Amhearst since Feb 2020.

Good: price is middle of the road at $5. Not stale.
Bad: This is second worst popcorn we have had in our travels. No salt. No butter. Prepackaged and cold. Tastes slightly better than cardboard.
Overall Grade D.

Only popcorn we have had that is worse is @RhodyMBB

On a side note, and this was not part of the grade or else they would have gotten our first F, we were the only people in line and it took 5 minutes to check us out. We were first told there was no cashier. As we walked away more staff came up. After several minutes of pressing buttons, he asked us how much the popcorn cost. I was too slow to say $1

Well, we're up. I'll take that. Lack of defensive rebounding, turnovers, and missed bunnies hurt. We'd be up 50-6 if we took care of those areas. Defense has been outstanding!!!!! Come on men, we can do this. Tighten up on the boards, take care of the ball and win this one going away.

Not a terrible first half for a noon tip, but we really need to hit the boards better In the second half and protect the ball better (7 turnovers). UMASS is obviously going to have more opportunities when they miss 20 shots, but there’s still no excuse to give up 10 offensive rebounds in a half.

We also need other guys to step up aside from Hall and Maddox (20 combined points). Not great balance when the other six players who have logged minutes have only totaled 10 points.
