Welcome Kory Mincy

This is exhibit A of why the board of visitors needs to give Tony the ammo he needs to at bare minimum keep pace with Saint Louis and vcu. Laugh all you want at me. At least I passionately care and am urging others to care.

I love Mincy and think he's perfect for the A-10. Do others really think he can get legit minutes at a Power 5?

He's not a great defender, not very athletic, undersized and not an elite passer.

He is a great scorer though, with good handles, which is why I think he has the best chance to excel at the A-10 level.

Is he much better than Okojie, who didnt even transfer to a p5 and lost his playing time?

Yes he is better than Okojie..he was an all conference pick.

Okojie was on the all freshman team. Who knows what kind of player he would have been without his sojourn at Memphis. I’d be surprised if he stays at Mercer with the numbers he put up there this year.

We do have an Okojie-like player coming in in Peyton Miller (same size 6’3 180-ish lbs). Had a high steal rate in high school. He’s listed on our boards as a PG, but I’ve seen him described as a combo guard.

If Mincy is looking for 7 figures (like Haynes), I don’t know if even doubling our current revenue share would make financial sense to keep him around.

Yes. He may be the best scoring pg that we’ve ever had. Watching the tournament this year has reminded me of how slow we play. Mincy would do much better in a more fast-paced offense. I wish Tony would speed up the pace of his system, but I understand that it is hard to get bigs that are able to play at that pace.

You do realize that Mincy was going to be the third guard off the bench before BOC got injured, right? Okojie was also the third guard off the bench.

Whom do you think was a better third guard? Do you believe a freshman version of Okojie could step in replace BOC's production?

Mincy was starter at Presbyterian who dropped 29 points on NC State and 28 on South Carolina in his sophomore year and was going to be the third guard on this team...that's mind blowing. BOC goes down and he steps in and becomes 2nd team all A10...He is not getting a million..alot of time would pay him 400 to 500k though.

He's so quick. Wish he was coming back but good luck to him. Not a fan of this NIL landscape, but TS has shown he can reel them in too.

He’s definitely up there with scoring pgs I’ve watched in 20 years of Mason ball. Obviously you have Otis and Cam Long and Marquise Moorse (less of a pg but whatever), but when you talk about pure scoring pg that creates and scores at will, with good size, Mincy is absolutely up there.

Kory is one of the all-around better point guards we have had in a while. He can score from anywhere on the court. Quick and fast.

Cam Long is one that is high up there in recent Mason history.... very similar scoring threats....Kory not too far off, would put him right under Cam in rankings.
