Survey about Mason basketball

Did y'all just get an e-mail to answer a survey about Mason hoops from the athletic department?
Yes, I hope everyone answers the question that performance on the court is extremely important and makes everything else secondary. But I am guessing Gemini will put in a write-in request to spend millions on a scholarship curling team.

Comment section at the end on what to improve. "On court performance. That is where the focus needs to be."

I just submitted my responses. All about winning. Everything else is a distance second for me. This is your chance guys. We've all been complaining about the team's performance overall and the coach in particular. This is a golden opportunity to voice your concerns. My summary comment was "Hewitt has to go!!"

Really afraid of what the majority will say on this, some of the comments from people at games makes me think we are in the minority here

The people who post here are not the only ones fed up with the program. I hear plenty in my section from people who I know don't post here. With that said, there is still a sizable number of people who still have their heads in the sand.

It's a very thorough survey. I take the existence and timing of this survey indicates that the AD is gathering data on pending important decisions and see it as a good sign. I'm an admirer of administrators who seek data to be as informed as possible when decisions need to be made.

At the very least it does communicte to us our opinions are valued. Good PR, Brad.

I think they should increase their sample size and/or design an additional survey for those who were long time season ticket holders, this may provide a clearer insight into perceptions of the disaster that is Mason Hoops.

Unless you are talking about former long-term season ticket holders, they do ask how long you've been a season ticket holder--hence they already can compare responses of long-term vs more recent. I'm not sure how many long-termers have dropped since Hewitt arrived.

That's the point...find out how many were and no longer are long term season ticket holders and why. This data may be more instructive than polling those who hang around. Think of it as gaining a clearer picture of the entire landscape.

I didn't get the survey as someone who lives hours from campus and only gets to 2-3 games a year. My brother forwarded the survey. I completed it and decided to let them know that I'd love to attend the conference tourney if I thought the team could compete. Stinks that I'm 3 hours from Brooklyn and I won't even consider going because of the product on the court.

FWIW, I am a former season ticket holder (just stopped this year) and I did get the survey.

Exactly. There is an old story about the military examining planes that came back from combat to see where they took the hits so they could reinforce them there. Someone finally pointed out that those are the places where the reinforcement was NOT needed, as those planes made it back. It is the planes that did not make it back that you need to examine.

Similar with Mason, they are querying the people that have taken the abuse, but still come back. While important to keep those people coming, it is just as important, if not more, to query those that stopped coming back, yet the survey specifically filters those people out.

izzy just said he is no longer a season ticket holder but did get the email. So how is the survey filtering out former ticket holders?

If you say that you have attended 0 games, it tells you they are not interested in your input (well, worded a little differently, but that is the implication).
