I don't recall Vaughan being that much of a leader. Seemed to me that he often did not come through in clutch situations or in big games...

You talking about John Vaughan?

I think the first thing you will notice is most of these highlights are defensive stops. Notice how often Vaughan prevented his man from getting to the rim and forced them into an unbalanced or difficult shot.

When I started this thread, Sherrod had just scored 22 points vs. South Florida - shooting 6-13 from the field (2-3 behind the arc). In the 7 games since the South Florida game, Sherrod is shooting 23.7% (14-59) from the field including 4.3% (1-23) behind the arc.

Sherrod currently has 1,311 career points. Before the season, I thought that it was a cinch he would become the 13th Mason men's basketball player with 1,500 career pts. Now, I'm not so sure.

With four games left + a conference tournament game, he looks like a pretty good bet to end at #6 all time. If he goes on a tear and/or we win a game or two in the A10 tourney he could finish as high as #4.

GIVING DAY 2023
Glad to see Sherrod back and killing it again. Too bad his efforts are going utterly unrewarded on the scoreboard.
