"Fairfax, Va.- Jack Bolz has been named as the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, April 1st. This is the fourth time in Jack's career that he has earned an EIVA Weekly award, first of this season.

Jack had a career-high of 23 kills on Friday's game against Sacred Heart University. He added seven digs and two total blocks to help defensively and secure another win for Mason at the RAC.

Saturday was a big matchup against conference rival No.15 Princeton and Jack Bolz showed up big time for the Patriots. 12 kills, seven digs, and three blocks were recorded by Bolz to secure a conference win and to remain undefeated at home. His weekend statistics were 35 kills with a .394 hitting percentage, 14 digs, and five blocks."

"Fairfax, Va.- Ron Shayka has entered the EIVA Hall of Fame, recognized by the committee as one of the main conference builders. Ron has been a part of the Mason program as an interim coach, a head coach, and as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Finance and Operations for many years leaving an impacting legacy for the Patriots.

Ron Shayka was the team captain for Penn State when they were crowned the 1981 EIVA Tournament Champions. He began his collegiate coaching career with George Mason becoming the assistant coach in 1985 and was named the interim head coach in 1986. He led Mason to a 27-5 record in 1986 and returned back to Fairfax in 1990 when he was named the official head coach for the next six seasons. During those six seasons the Patriots were 102-88, had five top-three finishes, and earned a spot in three EIVA Championship matches.

The decision to step away from coaching did not end his time at Mason. Ron continued to work with the athletics program in various administrative roles until he retired in 2021 when he was the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Finance and Operations. Ron served in the NCAA Men's Volleyball Committee and was the EIVA President from 2013-2021. He was a vital piece on bringing the NCAA Men's Volleyball National Collegiate Championships to George Mason in 2023.

Shayka led the EIVA Hall of Fame Committee before his retirement and now he has deservedly been added to the Hall of Fame as well, writing his name into history."

Senior outside hitter, Omar Hoyos, has been named to the First Team for the first time in his career.
