• THANK YOU DONORS!!
I'd like to personally thank everyone that participated in our first donor drive in years! We raised over double the amount that we set as a goal. You guys are awesome! This money helps to fuel much needed upgrades around here - and also includes monthly server costs and software licenses. We are excited for the future and your donations ensure that there will be a place to talk about George Mason basketball (among other things) for seasons to come! - The Management

GoMason.com Redesign

In case you didn't hear, GoMason.com launched a redesign this week. I'll give it a thumbs up. It's a little more clean/plain and they've fit more actual information on the front page above the fold. I'm also noticing much more use of the old school GM logo, which I LOVE the idea of alone... but not sure how well it meshes with the ol' shooting star and stripes being used side-by-side. See attached or visit GoMason.com.

They also launched/relaunched the GoMason app on mobile. Interested to hear if any of you have tried it.

Agreed, it looks good on the computer. However I think it’s a little sloppy on the phone..

Ha....its the exact same design and formatting as VT's Hokiesports.com relaunch a few weeks back as well. Wonder if the same company designed both - looks identical with way it loads and content placing and advertisers/sponsors at the bottom of the main page.... must be same CMS and design for colleges.

Its ok.... loads like shit on a Dell. Can barely see the content as the schedules above push everything down and the green menu bar is like in the center of my page.

Probably built for Mac and I-phone users and loads better on those platforms.

It's a ton of schools that use a similar template, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same company.

If it's loading really poorly, try a different browser, or clear your cache/cookies (sometimes your browser gets overloaded and winds up using like 40% of your RAM just to load all the crap that's been preloaded onto it).

It’s junk. Half the page is filled with stuff I don’t want to see, and on a phone, you can’t even select the last two options in the menu bar.

Yes, it's junk. Littered with minor sports stuff. Asked what sports I was interested in, and nothing changed. Jumps around. Freezes. KE is NOT going to be happy.
The only thing I like is the GM logo. The beginning of the end of the star? Please let it be so!!

You can scroll down on the menu (at least I can) on mobile.

The website is functionally the same on both mobile and desktop for me. The way the menus pop out does not seem like a great idea on the smaller mobile screen, though.

If you really don't care about the athletics department and just want men's basketball, bookmark the men's basketball page?

Edit: one more observation. It seems to be optimized for landscape (wide screen) rather than portrait. This probably has to do with widescreen monitors for laptops and desktops. Most people also don’t turn their phones sideways to look at websites.
