GIVING DAY 2023
At the start of the game I loudly said " I don't see how any self respecting Black person could play for or attend Jerry Falwell University". The Liberty fans sitting next to me got up and moved - without saying a word .
You don't know what motivated them to move. Maybe you were just too loud.

I'll comment on two aspects from tonight:

1. Basketball. Once again we got down early and it was too much to overcome. It was clear some on the team cared and others did not. I found it very interesting that Stas, Kanga, and Booker were in the game when it mattered most. At least they seemed to care, played hard, and put forth effort. I hope all 3 stick around.

2. I now have a fan base I hate more than vcu. I realize that the two Liberty fans sitting directly behind me may not represent what Liberty is supposed to embody but when they called our players "apes" on 3 occasions and that we played "jungle ball" on 2 occasions that sh&t doesn't fly with me. When we lost my friend offered a handshake to the two behind us for the win and the response was to challenge him to a fight. Classless and clueless. I will forever HATE Liberty.
Was it loud enough for eagle bank staff to hear? Why were they not ejected and banned?

Had the opposite experience with the Liberty fans sitting all around us. They were polite. Cheered loudly. Talked to us about their teams season (btw - they have had a 2nd half swoon too). We shook hands with all of them and wished them luck after game. Sorry you had a couple sh##heads next to you, but they weren't all like that - but the vcu fans are.

yes I do, as those were the only words I said,
now if you feel the need to obfuscate the history of a historically racist university run and founded by historically racist people then ...
First, you are assuming to know. Maybe it was because you were being a loud mouth.
Second, read my lengthy post concerning my knowledge of LU's student and staff population at large.

I am new to these forums and originally wanted to point out that it was sort of sad to see the team go out like this, even as the team played awfully, the win was right there as the team was basically playing 3 on 4 (That Harper guy who got the dunk at the end is not good). However, want to highlight the fact this was against easily one of the most reprehensible institutions in existence, not just on the racism aspect but the unashamed official support of the actual fascist POS in office. Sure, there are polite fans, but they know exactly what type of place Liberty "University" is. Outside of their theology department which to be fair is very regarded for research output and the faculty, it is an institution that maintains literally no academic standards to speak of and treats the children of bigoted parents as actual cash cows and hand them a piece of paper that wouldn't put them over someone with a high school diploma.
