A10 talk preview of conference teams:

2. George Mason

Record: 0-0

Upcoming Games: 11/3 at Temple, 11/6 at James Madison
Season Outlook: Fresh off their first-ever conference championship, and their first NCAA Tournament appearance, George Mason has retooled and reloaded for the new season. Returners Zaza Walton and Kennedy Harris were both tabbed for Preseason A-10 First Team, while Rhode Island transfer Hawa Komara was named to the Preseason A-10 Second Team. MJ Johnson is the other portal addition, who brings with her multiple NCAA Tournament appearances with both Texas A&M and Ball State. The Patriots also bring in perhaps their most talented freshman class in program history, led by Mary Amoateng who looks poised for serious minutes right away. The ante has been upped for Mason in the non-conference slate, featuring a pair of 30-win teams from a year ago, two AP Top 25 ranked teams (not counting Richmond) in addition to Princeton who is receiving votes. Where the fate of the season may lie for George Mason will simply be putting all the pieces together, and finding their lineup rotation. Role players like Louis Volker, Jada Brown, and Page Greenberg will all have their opportunities to leave their mark on this team this season. With their strength of schedule, there may be some growing pains, especially in November, but this George Mason team will be ready come March, you can count on that.

GIVING DAY 2023

"The Patriots and Dukes are facing off for their 76th match up. Their first match up was in January of 1981, where the Patriots took the game, 73-66. Since then, the Dukes have dominated the match up, leading the series 55-20, including winning the last 20 games."
i 100% expect that to change on Thursday night
and why hasn't there been a bus trip down to the game offered

Has there ever been a bus trip offered for a women's game? If so, I don't remember.

They have a hard enough time getting our fans to show up for away pregames/bus trips for men's games - likely not worth their effort to put together a bus trip for literally a few people that would go. Commentary on fan support, not the admin with this one.

send/post an email with departure times and price; contingent on demand, then they would know for sure

Game Notes indicate Kennedy Harris as one of the "probable starters". Komara not listed as key bench contributors. Nothing in the text about injuries or why they missed time in the first game.

Anybody know anything about their situations?

Kennedy Harris started the game and has played through out. Said to be "probable" by jmu announcers before game
Mason over 50 percent from 3 for the half. Madison with no 3s.

Never close after making a 20-2 run to begin the 2d quarter. 13-12 to 33-14 in about 8 minutes.

Got very sloppy in last 4-5 minutes of game--we didn't handle the press well.

Shot better from 3 than we did on layups! So still some room to grow, but Harris didn't show any signs from whatever kept her out of most of the second half & OT against Temple.

Amoeteng shows some promise but makes some rookie mistakes. Hopefully she'll improve in the non-conference part of the season.

Awesome response after tough OT loss to a solid Temple team. I have an inkling that Walton may be our best player… ever.

She very well might be. I don’t think Natalie ever scored 50+ pts over the course of 2 games.

12/11/17 vs. UMBC: 16 points & 13 rebounds
12/21/17 at Houston: 35 points & 20 rebounds

Unless I'm mistaken, Natalie Butler still holds the NCAA single-season record for total rebounds.

In the years that I attended the women's games, Jen Derevjanik was the best GMU player that I saw.
