Syracuse is a job of the past. They will never be consistently good in this climate. If Tony goes there he will get paid, but jobs like Pitt, Syracuse and similar jobs come open every season. It's 2026 not 1996.

It’s a bigger risk for them than it was us. We were at rock bottom and had nothing to lose.

If there's one thing that Coach Tony is showing to future potential coaches at Mason it's that, YES, they CAN succeed here.

I'm not in position to know how Mason's NIL stacks up to this season's A10 leaders. If this is our ceiling then, in all seriousness, there's not much I can do about it.

I think GW and Caputo showed us all that a $5M team is not always ALL THAT.

Mason has been making strides. They're baby-steps, certainly, but the trajectory is currently turning upward. We're hearing more and more from Mason's leadership and BOV about how important both men's and women's basketball are to the University.

Believe me, I'm impatient at times, too. But I control only what I am able to control, which is attending every game as a season ticket holder. Unfortunately, that's the best I can do.

If you can do more then by all means do. However, you're not going to receive the affirmation and validation you crave from those here who don't have control of all things Mason Basketball. You'd be better served by taking your ideas and complaints to higher authorities.

Welcome to the A10, you are either moving up or you are getting fired. No one will ever stay the same in the A10. The goal is that you can win enough on your stop through. It's one of the few true middle ground conferences. It's just going to be how it goes.

Mason should be smart and renew his contract and up his buy out! At the very least, get some money for NIL!

Pretty sure we did that last year. I’m not sure what his current buyout is but I doubt it stayed the same after we doubled his salary.

Its possible to keep a coach. Im sure Tony hates not being in a conf with alot of bids. Who doesn't? But he has a real chance to build a Gonzaga of the East if he wants to. Problem is the big money seems to win out. Not everybody is Mark Few. Maybe with this new A10 commissioner, he can build a conference worth calling home.

No I’m sorry but if Larranaga couldn’t do it while the moment was ripe? Tony isn’t going to do it. Especially if we are allocating half of what Saint Louis, vcu and Dayton are with nil and resources. vcu tied our accomplishment with their 2011 final 4 and invested in their program. That is why they have made the ncaa multiple times since that point and we have a drought going on 16 years. vcu is the Gonzaga of the East. We botched our chance from 2006 to 2011.

It pains me to say this but vcu is closer to being Gonzaga of the east than any other school. Gonzaga is on a level by themselves but if anyone on the east is close, it would be vcu.
