"Carey, a 1994 North Hagerstown graduate, starred on the basketball court for the Hubs. He became a team captain, was named team MVP and made the All-Tri-State first team. He played at Hagerstown Community College, helping the Hawks win two Region XX championships, and at George Mason, winning a conference championship and playing in the NCAA Tournament. He played pro basketball in Holland and Luxembourg. He then became a coach, starting as an assistant for the Frostburg State women’s team for five seasons — including a conference title and a trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament — then coaching at HCC and St. Maria Goretti."

I'm not sure that politics had anything to do with Bryson Johnson's visa renewal application being denied.

Interestingly, Coach Paulsen indicated that Bryson was pursuing opportunities within the NBA. Are the visa requirements different for coaches in professional leagues such as the NBA?

"Nick will be entering his eighth season with Paramount. Along with being the Recruiting Coordinator and Technical Coordinator for Paramount VBC, Nick is heavily involved in all aspects of the club. Coach Nick is the only coach in CHRVA history to qualify two different teams in the Open Division in the same season (during the 2026 club season, 17 Nick qualifed 2x in Open and 15 Nick qualified once in Open).

Nick began coaching volleyball in 2015 as a varsity assistant coach at perennial powerhouse Middleburg Academy. In the four years that he was an assistant coach at Middleburg, the program had a combined 150-21 record. During that span of time, Middleburg won three VISAA State Championships and advanced to four consecutive VISAA State Championships.

As a head coach, Nick's teams have earned 4 Open Bids. Moreover, Coach Nick is one of only two head coaches in the entire CHRVA Region to qualify a team in the Open Division of the USAV GJNC in each of the last three club seasons (2023-2025)."

"Nick played Division I basketball at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. While on the team, Nick was named to the NABC Honors Court, and he also won the Provost Scholar Athlete Award. Nick is the only George Mason men's basketball athlete in program history to graduate with a 4.0 GPA. He completed undergrad at George Mason in 2018, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Political Science. He then completed his Master's Degree in 2020, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Sport Management."

"Druck.at Traiskirchen Lions (BSL) signed 24-year-old American guard TJ Gadsden (Hofstra) for the upcoming season. Gadsden, who stands at 199cm, last played for Vilkaviskio Perlas in the Lithuanian NKL league. He averaged 14.3ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.7apg, and 1.2spg in 47 games last season, helping his team reach the semifinals. Gadsden had a standout season, earning the Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian NKL Import Player of the Year award, making the All-Imports Team, and being selected to the Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian NKL Second Team.

Gadsden graduated from Hofstra University in 2025 and it will be his second season in pro basketball. He played for other colleges like Canisius College and George Mason University."

He last played for Goes in the Uruguayan LUB league, where he averaged 13.3ppg, 3.5rpg, and 4.0apg in four games. During the summer of 2025, he played for Lagomar Canelones Montevideo in the Liga de Ascenso in Uruguay.

He has also played professionally in Finland with Raiders Basket.

Among many awards, his team made it to the Big West Tournament Semifinals in 2023. Hartwell received the All-Big West Sixth Player of the Year award back in 2023.

He graduated from the University of California Riverside in 2023 and it will be his fourth season in pro basketball. Hartwell played also for George Mason University for 4 years."
