Why would the BOV give one flying f*** what my opinion is on how they should allocate student fees?Never say never. Are you open to emailing the board of visitors?
Oh boy, here comes the passive aggressive response from himWhy would the BOV give one flying f*** what my opinion is on how they should allocate student fees?
Tweet, email, carrier pigeon Dr Wash and Marvin everyday...those are the two that need to push the envelope and say the uncomfortable to the BOV.
No, especially not for guys we get as transfers in - we are one of many schools offering these guys shots. Not until there are multi year contracts in place - which is probably the only thing that will restore some sanity to this. No idea if that will ever happen.I get the money. I really do. But don't any of these guys say, "Mason gave me a shot. I owe it to them to commit."?

Even with public/small school guys like Kier and Miller (and Oduro - lightly recruited but from national powerhouse) - obviously not as their NBA/ League bios list Providence,
Arizona and Miami.
Imagine if we finished bottom of the barrel in the A-10... we'd all be elated that the new landscape of college sports is one-and-done so we could have a realistic shot the following year and not be handcuffed by a bad roster.Gets harder and harder to spend my free time and money rooting for players that have no ties to the university other than a payroll check then bolt after one year.
But you paid, in part, for a professor that basically does the same thing. Enriches your life to a certain extent. Then professor can leave for more money and bigger name academic school. Thats the arguement the pro transfer guys will make. Same will be said about coaches leaving. IMO, coaches are professionals that are running an entire program from top to bottom under an agreed contract. Not the same. Most highly ranked academic depts are probably the ones that have the least turnover. None of this makes sense. Not only is the current college basketball landscape not preparing players for real life but they will mostly learn to run away from their environments they may not like.Gets harder and harder to spend my free time and money rooting for players that have no ties to the university other than a payroll check then bolt after one year.
Realistically compete for the a10 trophy? Until we realistically compete for the A-10 trophy, I, for one, am happy that we can essentially start from scratch every year.
When we do manage to go dancing, I'm sure the school will come up with the money to run it back with key guys the following year.
I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he meant consistentlyRealistically compete for the a10 trophy? We just did in the 24-25 season.

Yes and we couldn't bring that team back, except Jalen and BOC, because they were all out of eligibility. Maddox, Billups, Woody, KD, Anderson... and we brought BOC back.Realistically compete for the a10 trophy? We just did in the 24-25 season.
Not necessarily... just look at GW. Spent big $$ on their roster and how did it go for them?Yes but if we are finishing bottom of the barrel it’s because we don’t have the money to compete so the transfer market would be largely useless to us anyway.
There was a hilarious article “analyzing” why the Big 10 is dominating basketball this year (and football the last three) and essentially the analysis is “we get to pay players now and we’ve got crap tons of money, so yay us.”
If we win consistently, it certainly stabilizes and even accelerates things... but what I actually meant was win it even one time, and it'll help the program/brand tremendously $$-wise. Hopefully we win it with sophomores and juniors so we can run it back, like vcu.I’m going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he meant consistently
