Way to early Top 25 for the 22-23 Season

way to early considering the Transfer portal is still open and there will likely be more movement

but
#18 - Dayton - as long as none of the starters leave they should be a Top 25 team - and maybe the favorite to win the A-10

#25 - Saint Louis - unless they can replace Collins with a player as good as or better they will not be a top 25 team

a .lot of moving pieces - at both the team and conference level - in the short run the integration of the transfers - especially the down transfers may be the key

7. George Mason: With Josh Oduro back on campus, the Patriots are equipped with the best big man in the conference. Tennessee transfer Victor Bailey is joined by a pair of three-star recruits in Elvis Nnaji and Devin Dinkins and redshirted top-75 prospect Justyn Fernandez. Swingman Davonte Gaines is also back after averaging 10.2 points and 8.1 rebounds while shooting 40.2 percent from deep. Kim English‘s group should contend for a top-5 finish if everything clicks.

Sleeper team

George Mason: Kim English’s team lost eight of its final 11 games of the season, ending the campaign on a sour note after a 4-1 start to league play. But with swingman Davonte “Ticket” Gaines and all-conference big man Josh Oduro back on campus, English has plenty to build upon in Year 2. Down-transfers Victor Bailey (Tennessee) and John Ojiako (Virginia Tech) should contribute immediately after serving in smaller high-major roles. Meanwhile, Justyn Fernandez was listed as a 4-star recruit on ESPN before taking a redshirt and should contribute right away. Can Mason replicate last season’s lofty perimeter shooting numbers? Taking attention away from Oduro (49th nationally in usage rate) could open up the offense.

Traditionally, it’s your Center, Power Forward, and Small Forward. So that might be Ojiako, Oduro, Ticket; or it could be Oduro, Ticket, Bailey if we wind up playing small again.
If Oduro is truly playing the 4 this year, we better have a PG on the roster that can play a lick of defense because we can't have two guys get blown by at will.

in a traditional setup , I was thinking Josh, Ticket and ?

but i could see an early season situation - with reliance on veterans/grad students that a 4-1 lineup is used
that lineup might be Josh, Ticket, ?, and Bailey

I think that sounds about right, at least initially.

Our depth feels so much better too, even to the point where we could theoretically run a Green & Gold team. Not that we should, only that we could.

G Devin Dinkins
G Ronald Polite
G Justyn Fernandez
F Blake Jones or Elvis Nnaji
C/F John Ojiako or Malik Henry

I thought Mason would have been much lower but I guess the A10 being a really good league helped out for a few years.
