Very slow start. Not many points early in the game from either Za or Kennedy. Jada Brown picked up some of the slack and, uncharacteristically, was our leading scorer.
Rider seemed to play better than their record, getting free for back-door layups in the first half. Once we shut that down in the second half (good defensive plays by Volker), we controlled the game (although Rider's 7-15 3 pt shooting in the second half kept it from getting completely out-of-hand)
Amoateng got her first start --shot well and had team-leading 4 assists vs 1 TO. She's much quicker than Paola Suarez was last year, but it'll be a while before she becomes as poised running the point as Suarez. Sounds like the coach would like to get Amoateng to take over pg duties in order to get Kennedy Harris more off the ball opportunities (although that didn't seem to result in better production from Harris--at least not in this game).
