The nightmare of a season resumes, or does it? I am posting this today (1/8) since all other action has been postponed. Again, I am out of action beginning Monday the 10th so if other games are actually played in the meantime someone else will need to post the game thread. I am really going to miss going to the game, this will be my first miss at GW in I don’t know how long. Tonic pregame and the dump that is the Smith Center is always a good time to look forward to. Just trying to keep up with the MADNESS that has become our season.
GW is currently 4 - 10 on the season and 0 - 2 in A10 play after two non competitive defeats. They are 3-3 at home, 0-5 on the road, and 1-2 at neutral sites. I'm anal retentive when it comes to having the right info posted.
History: Including tournament play GMU is 6 - 11 against the Colonials as a member of the A10 although they have won 6 of their last 8 against the Colonials..
Wins: St. Francis, Wright St., Coppin St., Radford,
Losses: Maryland, San Diego, Cal St. Fullerton, Mass Lowell, Kent St., Missouri St., Boston University, Charlotte, Dayton, vcu
Canceled/Postponed: Maryland Eastern Shore, St. Bonaventure, St. Joe’s, Duquesne,
Schedule: https://gwsports.com/sports/mens-basketball/schedule
Roster: https://gwsports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster
Stats: https://gwsports.com/documents/2021/11/10//2021_22_MBB_Notes_Part1.pdf?id=4608
GW is led by 6'2" James Bishop (15.6 ppg), 6'4" Joe Bamisile (13.8 ppg & 6.1 reb), 6'4" Brendan Adams (9.8 ppg), and 6"8" Ricky Lindo (8.7 ppg & 8.1 reb). 6'11" Noel Brown has served as the fifth starter for the majority of their games. 6'2" Brayon Freeman has started once. 6"10 Dean Hunter and 6'5" Amir Harris play double digit minutes off the bench.
GW averages 64 points per game while giving up 71.4. The Colonials shoot 40.8% from the floor and 29.5% from 3. Opponents are shooting 43.6% from the field and 31.5% from 3. The Colonials shoot 64.7% from the free throw line. They have been out rebounded by opponents by 6 boards per game. They average 13.4 turnovers per contest.
The game is on CBS Sports Network.
My prediction: GW just isn’t very good. We should win this one. GMU 75 - GW 71. Fans across the DMV will be confused when news outlets report that the James Mason Patriot/Dukes squeaked by the George Madison Colonials at the Fairfax Foggy Bottom Bank Arena in Baltimore.
Discuss.
