Interesting stat: ODU is one of the few teams that has a worse FT% than us (61.5 vs 61.2%).

One of the issues against Tulane is that our worst FT shooters (e.g. Henry, Singleton, Oduro) were the only ones to get fouled.

As I thought, and now hearing it from the Coach's show, the team is starting to make defense their calling card. Holding top offenses like Toledo and Tulane at bay during this win streak are excellent strides. Coach mentioned the offense goals weren't hit during Tulane (I mean duh), but defensively they were. It sounds like the Tulane game was the best defensive game of the year.

That said, ODU has played well at home to win all their games and historically Mason/ODU games are always tough, especially in Norfolk. Mason needs to find a way to take the game because it would be a let down to lose. ODU gets out rebounded and doesn't seem to be a great offensive team. If Mason plays defense, and outrebounds ODU, I actually like our chances to pull this one out.

If Mason has post season aspirations in March then the patriots need to win this one.


ODU is 7-4 that includes. closes losses to #17 Virginia Tech on a Neutral site, a 5 pt loss on the road to Davidson.

The end result is that ODU's NET ranking is #130 so a road victory on Norfolk means a NET Q2 win for Mason. If ODU continues to play well it would be profile booster on their March resume.
