GIVING DAY 2023
Couple things...

Cost: $600/head is the minimum cost for the Gold Room pass. There are many who pay more, much more.
Food: I believe the food in the Gold/Green Rooms are donated for advertising considerations, but I could be wrong.
Beer: Not sure if it's donated but on a per keg basis, it can't cost to much.

If the powers that be want more from donors, let them make their case and raise the cost, but please don't nickel and dime me on game nights. I've paid enough; I just want to come to the game and have fun.

Yes, there will be people complaining about ... any and everything these days. You talk about the crowds in the Gold/Green Rooms, but please imagine how much worse it will feel if people are stopped by the cashier to pay for their food and beer. Half the folks wouldn't even get their drink during half time because paying per drink is time consuming when you only have 12-15 minutes.

As for the coaches pregame, I used to love hearing from the coaches pregame, but it's now become completely useless. The basketball coaches don't even come anymore; it's become an advertisement for other sports which is fine in addition to, but I WANT to hear from the basketball coach (Head or Asst.) about the night's opponent and how we plan to play them ... like they used to do.

They definitely have to pay for the catering, beverages and staffing (aside from student athlete volunteers who pour soda). I'm sure there is some sort of a deal, or at least there was with Brion's, but it is not comped.

To your point that many people pay more than just the seat donation, you may or may not know that the green room no longer allows your mandatory seat donation to count towards your green room status. So everyone downstairs is contributing above what they have to for their seats to access that room. Good chance that becomes the future of the gold room which is probably just reflective of the times.

I agree that other teams coaches don't add a lot. Candidly I'd prefer each of those coach talks has a sponsor where some local banker, realtor, financial advisor, etc. gets to introduce themselves before the coach talks. Again, anything that brings more money into the program.

The biggest problem has always been consistency. So whatever it is they are planning they need to stick with it and not just abandon it after two games.
Yes, I belong to a club in Florida…soon to be NC, wherein the bev cart schedule seems to be ad hoc. The club, by their lack of consistency, has taught us to bring our own stuff to the course because they are so inconsistent.

Consistency matters.

I know this is the NBA... but in the article, it says they visited numerous colleges to see how they did it. Why can't we have something like this?
Sadly it seems like a bunch of students have to be incentivized to do it. There is students that go to every single game and love the team but just don’t think standing really does that (news flash it does).

Hopefully there will be more tailgates next year, and more things inside the arena to get more students to be louder and standing.

You and your crew are doing a fantastic job!!! If you can continue to build upon this past season's momentum then you've bounded up more steps than anyone over the last 10 years in building student fan support. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
