Thoughts: If you are heading down to the game and want dinner or drinks before the game the only real option near Smith Center is Tonic at Quigley’s Market.

The big news for the Revolutionaries is that star center Rafael Castro injured his foot in practice in late January and has not played since their game against St. Louis on January 27. He had 12 points, 18 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 3 steals against the Billikens. They are 1-4 since his injury including a 14 point loss to Fordham at home.

They have suffered other injuries as well. From an article in the GW Hatchet, “Caputo said numerous players are currently dealing with injuries and that the team has been unable to engage in live-contact practice.”

They remain very dangerous from 3. They are 2nd in the league with 235 makes, an average of 10.2 per game. Must defend the 3 to have a chance.

They have the ability to play with anyone. All you need to do is look at their loss at Saint Louis. It took a 3 pointer at the buzzer by Robbie Avila to end the game.

It’s hard to be optimistic after the shit show at Richmond. Lose and our decline out of the top 4 continues.

Go Mason!

Sadly I dont see us winning without Mincy. Unless Troutman can turn into a 20ppg scorer...we are sunk.

Every team gets one bad road L once a year. Fingers crossed that Mason got the poison out and Tony has them ready and focused.

Maybe now our guys will realize they are the ‘inferior team’ and play hard from the start?
That was an infuriating quote. Tony should bench his butt, imo. The problem is, it sounds like he would need to bench the entire team. Maybe even himself. Coach has to take some/a lot of the blame for that attitude.

Mason has experience a months worth of bad home and bad road games, the team has been living on luck to comeback in the second half.

See Loyola Chicago, GW and Fordham

Unfortunately we had our bad road L at Rhode Island, then a TERRIBLE home loss to Duquesne, and now a TERRIBLE road loss at Richmond to make them 3 and 3 in their last 6 games.

I was still optimistic with a record of 20-3 and multiple quad1 opportunities coming up, but not any more. The team is who they are over the last 6 games until they prove otherwise.

The team can absolutely improve and turn the corner, I'm just not expecting it anymore.

Now I'm just rooting for a top 4 finish, but that is going to be a nail-bitting dog fight with 4 teams with 5 losses trying to catch us.

BOC and his decision on whether to play or not might dictate the outcome of the season. Right now, they need him more than ever. His leadership being a very important part of that. You just hope he can shake the rust quickly.

"Fans are encouraged to wear black for the Blackout game presented by Main Street Bank and the first 1,000 fans will receive black t-shirts. Friday is also DMV Night and Black History Month celebration and GW Hall of Famer Shawnta Rogers will have his #54 jersey honored in a special halftime ceremony.

PLAYING FROM IN FRONT
Tuesday marked GW's fourth wire-to-wire win of its five A-10 victories (and seventh overall), leading for all but 1:58 against URI. In its five A-10 wins, GW has led for 189:36 (94.8%) of the 200 minutes and trailed for only 2:54 (1.45%), all vs. La Salle on 1/3. Conversely in the seven losses, GW has been behind for 158:14 of 280 minutes (56.5%) and only led for 102:07 (36.5%).

Over the course of the season, GW has been in the lead for 87.7% (491:30 of 560 minutes) of the time in its 14 wins. GW holds a 12-5 record when scoring first, is 14-2 when leading at the half and 14-1 when leading with five minutes remaining.

RECORD-SETTING OFFENSE
GW is averaging 83.6 ppg, the third-highest mark in school history and the best since putting up 84.6 ppg in 1968-69. The Buff & Blue are 2.3 ppg off the school record of 85.9 ppg set back in 1952-53 and are on pace to average over 80.0 ppg for the first time since 1999-00 (80.6).

GW is third in the A-10 and 41st nationally in scoring offense, and has shown an improvement of 14.8 ppg compared to last year's group that ranked 195th nationally with 68.8 ppg."
