To be fair, I think Tony has made a comment about him needing to tighten up defensively. He’s obviously been stellar so far this year, but if he wants to not be the odd starter out when BOC gets healthy then he’s gotta start locking in on the other end of the floor as well.

I'm sure all of our players can perform better defensively, and it wouldn't surprise me if Mincy is at or near the top of the list. I think he and Long are playing a lot more minutes than they expected, so getting more breaks when players return will likely help them focus more on the defensive end.

That said, unless Mincy is just being lazy and not trying, I'm having trouble envisioning any scenario where Tony removes the A10's current leading scorer from the starting lineup. Hopefully, Mincy steps up his defense and Tony doesn't have to make that decision.

Presley will go back to the bench before Mincy (and I’d say Presley has been the biggest pleasant surprise of the newcomers so far).

I will repeat my preseason prediction: BOC is our 6th man*, we have a good shot at being top 4. Mincy and Long starting the season hot gets us closer to that reality.

*This prediction dependent on O’Connor being back by conference play.

BOC was the starter pre injury, I’ll be surprised if he moves to a bench role. Presley is filling troutmans slot, who will absolutely be a starter when he’s back healthy.

A broken foot is a tricky injury for a basketball player and BOC has a future playing overseas, so I’m sure the staff is going to be very careful about not bringing him back too soon and risking re-injury. They also have the luxury of not having to rush because of the depth in the backcourt.

Hoping we will, but not at all assuming we see him on the court again this season. Depending on the healing process, he might decide to take a redshirt and save the year of eligibility.

I'm still vague in Hill's situation. First he has an ACL which has him for months. Then it's not a seriousness and back at the end of November. Now no one is talking about it

I think he’ll be back in the next few weeks. Sounded like he was starting to play in practice soon.

I didn't have to try tom. It's clearly a problem for the team and #3 as well. and tony says it himself. The on ball defense of the PG is paramount. Hopefully they get it right. Soon.

It's gotta be hard to be the first scoring option AND focus on being a lock-down defender. It's going to take some games to get that balance down. Sure would help if everyone else on the floor would step up.

As long as we have Tony things will be fine. He has proven he knows how to identify talent, build a team and coach it up. Hopefully the administration stays aggressive in compensating him and the staff — players will come and go, but our program has a very high floor under these current coaches.

1000% that's it, they need to go all in on TONY! Build the identity around him. Make it so he wants to stay, make it his program. Let him build it and win. Kids will come and go everywhere, thats just the nature of the beast now. If you keep refilling the tank it will keep running! It's going to come down to what does it take to keep him happy. There may come a day where he leaves but lets hope he does at least a decade in Fairfax first.

I’d be happy with 5 years let alone a decade lol.
